DVD burner

Hey guys. I'm looking for a good DVD burner, as i usually always look for a cheapy, but they seem to only last about 1 or 2 years tops. Needs to be dual layered as well, as i need to fit lots of stuff on 'em :o)

[EDIT] I be more descriptive. I'm looking for a suggestion for a burner that will be very reliable and last a while. Don't mind paying a bit more.

You got a suggestion for an actual burner though? I use that site quite often, great prices and delivery.

IDE or SATA?

Pioneer seem to be fairing OK for me.

Having said that, My first ever DVD driver (Hitachi GD2500) is still working perfectly well. I only upgraded for speed.

So Hitachi or Pioneer would get my vote.

Why not get a Blu-Ray Dual Layer Writer instead, they are quite cheap now.

Yes, that's only 167€. Some of them still cost $800, but LG/Samsung is the best brand for DVD/BluRay drives.

I'll stick to the DVD's :o) Thanks guys, it looks like most branded ones are the way to go, however, i'll give those brands priority.

50gb Bluray discs cost a lot, even 25gb discs are around £8-£10.

I have a Pioneer DVD writer. Not dual layer but its served me well for 3 or 4 years now.

You might be able to save even more with a link from my blog!

I've had very good luck with the LiteOn's. Low price, but much better track record than others in the same price tier.

I'd stay away from NEC.
