Home theater dvd&blue ray movie restrictions

I had to post this, as someone who plans on converting a detached garage I found this crazy.. as should anyone who owns a dvd or blue ray movie. next you'll have to cover your paintings in your home unless you are the only one viewing them, and keep headphones on unless you have a multiuser agreement on your CDs.

Better not let your family watch your stuff either or else you'll get arrested for 'temporarily sharing it' with them also.


But seriously, it's bullcrap regarding the amount of laws are that are/being made that are as one-sided as this, with no say on what the consumers want.

They are a satirical news magazine, like The Onion.

On their website footer: "BBspot is a satire news and comedy source, and meant to be funny."

Even though this is satire, it's probably what the movie companies actually think.

There was a news article yesterday on the radio where a mechanic who works alone has been ordered to buy a licence to listen to the radio at work because customers may hear it when they come in to ask about their car. So it classes as public performance.

My only question though, is surely the customers have radios in their cars anyway?

Wow, just wow.

Yeah, its clearly a fake. But seems loosely based on ideas being thrown around my entertainment media companies.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is that this is neither a hoax nor a joke. I live in Germany, and our laws pretty much see it exactly like the above sentence says. The good news is that in practice there is what we call a "tolerance paragraph" for watching a movie together with friends and family. Which simply means that the courts have decided to close their eyes and not to make themselves ridiculous by trying to enforce the law in such cases.
