Sega Rally - PS 3

Hiya all,

I have play Sega really for first time but what put me off is that the computer AI car(like if they have Super Tubro Sport car and make No mistake on the race track) was way ahead of me and my car(Bloody Subaru Car) couldnt even get near them. I came Last in the race!!

Now I gonna change the game and play Fear instead!!!is

Maybe you're just not very good at it?

I am good at racing car game(Such as GT 5 and other racing game) but this sega rally Computer AI car is very UNFAIR and they had MASSIVE Ahead start to go off which is so UNREAL!

I think you'd have the same amount of fun racing soap bars around the edge of a bath.

That's exactly how they handle.

I gave sega rally second try and try my best but it was very tough game.

Once you get used to the slippy handling the game is great fun, give it a good chance. I loved the original and saturn version.

I still think it would have been better named

"Sega Soap Sliding Superprix"

I liked the game, but once Evak mentioned it had "soap handling" I pissed myself laughing cuz its so true!

on a side note

what do you prefer in a driving game
no matter where you come in the race its next race time please do better
or
you cant progress to the next level (track) till you reach the podium (or within the top whatever)

i know real life is option one and most arcade racers its option two
but id rather play arcadeesque games via option one than become fluent in one race track but still get beaten by hardcore AI drivers
ok i admit im pants at driving games and my brakes are normally 'lets hit that wall over there that should slow me down' :D

Get an XBox 360 and play GRID. Excellent racing game. It is street racing though. If you want offroad action, get DIRT.

I can't imagine why he'd want to buy an XBox 360 to play it, seeing that it's out on PS3, and with a better framerate too.

saw the crash vids of grid ... thats how i play :D
a 360 is on my to buy list after my hope it dont cost too much dentistry
getting it mostly for rock band so i can whack out some drumming frustration ;)

Because an X360 is half the price of a PS3, maybe?

It's out on the PC too, but the handling is a bit rubbish. Ruins what looks like a gorgeous looking and exciting game. I'm hoping someone will mod Grid and make the cornering more realistic.

Better than what? Prefect? I have never seen any framerate issues on my 360 while playing Grid.

Well what you can see and perfect are obviously two different things. There have been numerous references to the framerate problems in the game on X360.

Oh, you read it on the Internetz somewhere??? Must be true.

Like I said, while playing, I have not seen any framerate drops. Whether there are people out there having issues of that sort, I cannot say. But, I have not had any issue with it.

Probably just fanboiz talk.

Well obviously I'd prefer to take your opinion over the opinions of a dozen or so professional writers.


Coming from someone who jumps onto a thread about a PS3 game to tell someone to buy an XBox 360 to play a game which is widely regarded to play better on the console he already has, I would think you would want to avoid using the term "fanboy".

He changed "y" for "iz" at the end so, he HAS a point.

I can't say I have ever seen a framerate drop on the 360, and I am super-sensitive to that.

Saying that, the 360 has cutdown graphics compared to the PC. My PC doesn't drop either, even with customised settings for ultra-high detail.

"perfect" frame rate on my 360 as well. I've never seen a single slowdown, and it looks beautiful.

Anyways, back to the question posted a while back,... I love a nice challenging racing game, but I really hate when it is impossibly hard to advance (and unlock new stuff) I would much prefer a system that lets you advance regardless of your performance, and then lets you try to beat the "impossible" lap times later. That way it doesn't completely lock out those that can't drive fast enough, but still gives a good challenge for those that need it.

To me the most fun to be had in a racing game is ghost car racing. There is no better competition for anyone than trying to beat their own personal best time.

I like GTR 2. You can unlock events by passing driving tests and other achievements. It's pretty realistic but if your someone that drives real cars it can be easier to control than many arcade racers. Especially with a wheel.

I tried the sega rally game on the PC and it was rubbish, was nice to see normal mapped mud clumps (I guessed it wasn't chocolate, though thats what it looked like :) building up on the cars, but that was about it.
