Sad news.
I just read on the RealmCrafter forum that Matt LaVoice, known on this forum as '
ckob', and on the RealmCrafter forum as 'Amunra' apparently died in a car crash on Saturday.
This information was posted by Dragon, the boss at Realmcrafter/Solstar Games.
On Saturday morning at 1:15 a.m. Matthew S. LaVoice, "Amunra" of this community was killed when the car he was riding in was struck by a tractor-trailer.
Riding in the car with Matt was his wife and 10 month old daughter.
Brianna, Matt's daughter is in serious condition and remains in the hospital. His Wife Kimberly, was treated and released.
Matt "Amunra" was the original owner of the MMORPGCE game creator that was the precursor of Realm Crafter.
Matt was always eager to help other members of this community, was very knowledgeable, and loved to make games.
We'll miss you Matt
That is sad.
That is very sad news. :(
Goodbye ckob, you were one of the more friendly and generous members of this community. I think we all wish that his daughter pulls through ok.

A real tragedy. Only posted three days ago, and had been part of the community for eight years, during which time he had contributed much in terms of help and code.
He will be sadly missed.
Condolences to the family and best wishes for his daughter's recovery.
Death sucks. RIP.
Bill - thank you for posting. It can be strange when a virtual colleague/friend vanishes from cyberspace and you always wonder what happened, sometimes thinking the worse.
Thinking about him and his family.
Aw! I remember that fella. Nice guy! :-( RIP.
It's so sad...
I hope the girl recovers and grow up to be everything he expected her to be.
Barney

Gee, sorry to learn that. Car crashes are tough :(
Well, best of luck to the family. I hope this doesn't loom over them for too long.
That's terrible news - I hope his daughter gets through this ok. Seems unreal how you can be here one minute and gone the next.
I remember when ckob was testing his original online game and we had some very amusing moments - a very sad loss.
:(
Sad news :(
This is very sad news indeed, my condolences to his family.
IPete2.
Sadly, it takes news like this to put your own stupid, little problems into perspective.
Tonight, go home and give your wife, G/F, kids, cats and dogs an extra big cuddle, be thankful for what you have and then.... phone your mum! Why? Because you can.
Sad news, RIP.
Very sad news, condolances to his family. :(
Very sorry to hear this... he seemed a decent guy.
Sad to hear.
this is a sad day, i hope his daughters fine. best of luck to the family i hope they find there way through this.
He was one of the first few to have helped me through some basic stuff back when I initially took a stab at programming via BlizBasic (back in the days when BlitzCoder was up).
A real shame to hear of his leave, my condolences to his family.
this is sad indeed... :(
RIP, ckob.
Very sad news. I hope his daughter pulls through.
Very sad, thoughts are with his daughter at this time.
His daughter is improving according to this report.
http://www.mcall.com/news/local/police/all-5baby.6450035jun09,0,1119898.storyAn earlier report says his wife (who was driving) is being cited for not giving way to the oncoming truck. You'd think they'd leave it a bit.
Oooh, great link.
I got to know ckob when I was 16 and due to his influence and the influence of others I am where I am today. I thank him for his contribution, and hope the best for his family and specially hope that everything goes well for the baby. Thanks ckob.
:o(

Damm...i use to know him back in the early 3DRAD days....almost reminds me of the another legendary coder from the forum who also suddenly died back then too.
Life is so short and tragic sometimes...

....
Unbelievable...We were chatting on msn messenger before I came to Korea about game designs. Very unfair. Best wishes for his wife and baby.
Dam... that is a big loss... :o(
Matt and I worked together on a few occasions. I loved his optimism and enthusiasm. Its hard to hear news like this. My thoughts are with his family.

This is really sad news. I hope his daughter pulls through. :(
Terrible news. It's been a long time since we talked, but he was always a solid fellow and will absolutely be missed.
Safe travels to him, wherever he's headed now, and here's hoping his daughter has the swiftest of recoveries.
Hey mord.
Sorry to hear about this. Very much enjoyed talking to him, so this is saddening. I'm going to miss having him around. At least the rest of his family survived, I'm sure that he would be happy to know that.
I still remember teaching him blitz3d concepts and beta testing his multiplayer code. His goal was always to make an MMORPG, and then later a suite of tools to make one. Well, he finished what he went out to create. More power to him. Time flies, will be missed. He was a good guy.
Very sad news.
My condolences to his family.
This is sad news.
RIP
...
RIP, ckob.
Very sad. Can I propose we all make a small donation into a fund or make a donation towards some flowers or something.
I would absolutely make a donation.
From the recent posts of ckob, he wanted to do something for servant
http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=36871#880048and had someone to take over his 3d building generating tool.
http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=77941#873263:(
Tragic, at 26 he had so much more life to look forward to.
There are no words to express the sadness, and loss. My prayers are with his family.
Passing on a message from ckob's mother:
I wish to thank all of you that posted such nice things about my son Mathew LaVoice, he always talked about this site. His wife and Daughter are ok and home now. He always believed in fate and the after life so I think he may be with some of you I know my puter has done some weird stuff the past few days. leave it to Matt. Sincerly Brenda Parker
It's good to hear that his daughter is well now.
I would certainly make a donation.
I just heard the news.
Matt was a real life friend. He was hands down one of the nicest people I have ever met.
We all run out of extra lives eventually. Too bad Matt had to use his up so quick. It's a shame this game doesn't have save points.
He was short, had lots of freckles, and was the owner of one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. He called my graphics "grainy". I never did figure out what that meant, and now I will never get the chance. (/me shakes his fist at the sky.) He let me sleep under his desk for a week one summer.
I am really glad I got to know him. He was a stand-up guy and a good family man. If everyone had just a fraction of the kindness that He had, the world would be a much better place.
I hope that wherever you are, there are blitz products running on the latest version of DirectX
I am gonna miss you Matt. See ya later.
How sad! Ckob was an amazing coder and contributor to the community, he'll be missed.
