Service Pack 3 Include .NET?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Service Pack 3 Include .NET?

Does Windows Service Pack 3 include .NET? I ask as recently version 3.0 of .NET has disappeared from the Windows update site so I thought that maybe since I have recently installed SP3 this may be the reason and it has been installed as part of that.

I`m sure it was listed as a Windows update before and I haven`t installed it manually.

Anyone know?

Jason.

It is not mentioned here:

No, I know. Strange eh? Maybe they have just taken .NET version 3.0 off of the site for some reason. There was a version 3.0 right? I`m not imagining it am I?

Um.... not using XP any more so I could be wrong. I don't think I've ever seen .NET 3.0 available via windows update.

You can download it manually from the Microsoft website, then updates/service packs for it become available from windows update, but not so sure about .NET 3.0 itself.

XP SP3 does not install .net runtimes AFAIK.

At least, I did a fresh SP3 install the other day and it listed two .Net runtimes as optional updates from Windows Update after the initial round of driver installs and security hotfixes.
