DRM / software protection for Mac?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/DRM / software protection for Mac?

I've always used Armadillo in the past for pc which is excellent. What options are there for mac?

Seriously? Nothing?

ESellerate have one, but I think you have to sell with them to use it, and they're not the cheapest (or easiest) to work with.

Also, there's this, which is free, and probably good enough to counter casual piracy? :

Ah nice. I'm sticking with Armadillo for the PC and am happy to go with something lighter for Mac. So that aquaticmac looks good. Cheers. :)

DRM doesn't work, restricts user freedoms and scares customers. I'm adding you to my blacklist of never buying anything from you.

10,000 NSS3 sales says you're wrong.

nawi is just a paranoid fellow. :)

Is that really 10k sales? Man, congratulates!

Let me know if you manage aquamatic to work for you.

cheers

And how many copies did your copy sell in the parallel universe where he sold the products without DRM?

well done on a sales figure that big. Are you able to say how much of that was due to press exposure in PCZone or SkyNews?

BTW, half the links on your site don't work for me

Yeah excellent sales!

I made a Mac demo version and then people are only provided with a link to the full version by BMT Micro. Of course they could easily copy that then.

The mag reviews were a huge plus (FourFourTwo and PC Zone in particular). Not sure that the SkyNews review was noticed much but it's nice to have on my site. :) Got great affiliate sales through GameTunnel too.

I would say don't bother with mag ads. Spent a fortune in 442 and ended up very dubious about the results. (As I said, the review on the other hand did the business.)

It's no longer being reviewed/advertised, what with it being 2 years old but sales are still nice, roughly 3-6 a day. Working hard on the new version now. :)
