This is just a link. It would be better if you could take the time to actually write something.

eg it could have been about booth babes
or what it was really about
eg

this thread is about women gamers bla bla bla what does your other half play?

The whole booth babe/stripper thing at the GDC is really derogitory, to the industry itself. It is for this reason we signed up for some "Women in Gaming" thing...I don't care about the promotion of women's rights or whatever, I just find the cartoon-boob-elf ears-fantasy thing really unprofessional.

It also could have been about girls on the game.

Agreed.

I don't understand why these "boob elves" or "breasty gun fondlers" appeal so much to guys who've spent most of their adolescence holed up in dark rooms in front of computers. Oh, wait a minute...

I totally love them - can't get enough.

And the reason why there aren't many female gamers is twofold:

1) Very few consoles come in pink.
2) Gamepads and other control devices are not compatible with flappy, weak and trembly girl-fingers.

You have just described the vast majority of male gamers...

TBH that could be considered a derogitory statement. I think most women dont play games as most games are First Person Shooters where people go around shooting everything that moves and this doesnt appeal to girls general. My wife loves puzzle games and hidden object games that tax the old grey cells but cant be bothered with RPG's and FPS games.

Girls don't like violent games, they like social and intelligent games. I'm actually planning to do a horse ranch simulator, that would also work for girls. I started wild west horse riding courses few weeks ago, and thought this just screams to be a game too.

Never in the history of me walking the planet, have I ever thought that I would or could encounter such a game! :)

Maybe it will be enough of a niche that you could make a few bob off it I suppose! ;)

Some of them do vibrate.

There is a fair share of un realistically good looking guys, with super toned bodies in games. So, i don't think it's all one sided.

I have read that there are many potential gamers who'd like to explore the interesting virtual worlds of computer gaming, but are put off by the continual insistence on combat as being the only way to progress.

I was playing Mafia and my gf walked in. She was really interested in the cutscenes and couldn't believe a computer game could be so dramatic. But as soon as I pulled my gun out and started running round like a rabbit on speed (as most computer characters do), she lost interest.

Funny that.
