Dice Tech Challenge
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Dice Tech Challenge
Hi, everyone! I've been a Blitz user for several years and I'm wondering if I could ask you guys a favor. I checked the forum rules and this seems to be ok, so...
I entered something called the "Dice Tech Challenge" which is a Google Maps mashup contest. I'm in the top 10 and I need votes to win. The prize is $4000 which is very cool.
Mine is entry #3: IHOPs.
http://career-resources.dice.com/tech_challenge/tech_chal_form.htmlI think I've created a great entry, especially considering that many of the other finalists didn't adhere to the guidelines very closely.
Thanks everybody, and I hope this isn't too off-topic to be appropriate.
Your probably not going to get many votes from people in the uk (does uk even have IHOPS?), interesting though..
Doh! It's easy to forget things like that with the Internet, especially when Blitz prices show up in US dollars here (don't know if they do elsewhere).
From what I know IHOPs are mostly in the US and Japan.
Sorry to be a bother. :)
i voted to support you. i'll take a commision fee though, 10% sounds good ;D
Thanks, mayaman! Sorry, I can't promise you anything in the way of commission. :) However, in the event that I win and I'm asked to write about it, I will definitely mention the Blitz community.
Voted for you
I voted for you.
I might switch IP and vote again - if you call me "Snookums".
Thanks again, it's much appreciated.
Just a note for everyone else - you don't have to register or anything. Just click "Vote" and select the entry.
Also, voting isn't restricted to the US only. If you don't live in the US you can type the name of any US location and it will show you the IHOPs there (if they exist).

I just voted for you, in return I expect you to email IHOP
and demand they start up in Norway soon !! ;)
I simply LOVE IHOP and therefore I love everyone else who
love IHOP too ! :D
What is IHOP?
We don't have IHOPS in the UK, and after checking their menu I hope we never do. Looks very fatty and unhealthy.
@LarsG
IHOP - The International House of Pancakes. Not very international, eh?
I really like IHOP, but there isn't one very close to where I live. I go to them mostly on trips. Yes, it is fatty and unhealthy. ;)
How did it go ?
i thought ihops was some interweb protocol ;)
international house of pancakes hmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
pankakes
we do have the odd great crepe company trailer
im guessing international the same way international baseball never playes outside the states ;)

For some reason I find it very funny to see this comment coming from a country whose traditional breakfast includes bacon, sausage, eggs, toast and marmelade :D

i have a sweet tooth (its the only one left mind you)
dont diss the full english (least its not haggis when i found out what THAT was i vowed never to try it black pudding is a bit iffy if you ask me unless your a vampire)
You guys are the best!
wedoe - not sure how it went yet. Voting ends May 31st, so you can still get your last minute votes in :)
For the uninitiated, IHOP is sort of a
greasy spoon. Definitely not healthy, but then again it's not supposed to be.
I've never had British food, but for some reason I've always thought I would like it. Not to mention my strong fondness for Guinness. I really need to get out there and see.

Voted. Good luck on the contest!
This IHOP finder is useful, i never knew there were three of them around here.

seeing as guiness is an irish stout it is a bit out of place in english things to try and like list (cant abide it myself nor larger)
try some real ale or cider (preferably the scrumpy sort) if you do come over they wash the full english down 'reet nice like'
You get money from it... I get nothing... costs nothing for me to vote... sure, why the hell not. That's no skin off my back :D

True. I guess I'll have to visit both. :)
Another thing I really like is British comedy. Red Dwarf is great; I own all 8 seasons. I even have a Mr. Flibble hand puppet! (Hex vision not included.) I also recently found something called "Look Around You." That show is hilarious.

Fine philosophy if you ask me. ;) Thanks - you have my gratitude.
Today is the last day, so people can still get a last-minute vote in!
Thanks again, everyone... I'll let you know how it goes.
