Virtual instruments

Hey guys, i know some of you on here are pretty clued up with these sorts of things. I bought my midi keyboard a while back and i'm pretty impressed with the things it can do. I got with the keyboard, 4 or 5 different instrument packs.

However, they mostly all are dancy kind of tracks. I'm after real instruments, like acoustic guitars, and electric guitars, violins.. etc (to make proper music :oP )

Does anyone have any suggestions/recomondations? I'm using Project 5 software, if helps with compatiblity etc. I'm sure if that matters though?

Get a streaming sampler, like Halion 3, then you can run about all pro libs out there.. (many of today's libs come with their own custom player tho)

VST instruments are probably what you should be looking for if you want them to be realistic.

Money is somewhat tight, so i dunno if i can afford a streaming sampler. I'll check out VST thanks :o)

It depends a bit on your goals. If you aren't going to do dense orchestral scores with 40+ gigantic instruments then your requirements won't be that high and you may be served well with a cheap RAM sample player.

Nah, just a few instruments here and there. Just really getting to grips with home studio stuff, so i can produce my own music, or at least have a good idea before going to recording studios.
