What your Greatest Achivement in Video games(the games you've played and gotten so very far on)?
HOW do put picture on here?
That picture is way too big - it's 1.2MB. It's like a big gay whale - convert it to a jpg.
Did you not receive your sphinctron bluetooth dongle byte-tranceiver when you registered your copy of Blitz? If so, plug it up your botswana now - make sure the other end is plugged into a USB port. Stare and mentally scan-in the image. If it's successfully finished you will let out a small pocket of gas...it'll whiff a bit like sprouts and ozone. Unplug and re-load your post. Your image should now be there for all to see.
If it doesn't work you should probably start a dirty protest on your monitor screen until BR send you replacement Sphinctron. They can be a bit dismissive if you just email them.
We don't want him to post it - it's too big.
The Sphincto-gizmotron thingy has great auto-compression.
Completing Resident Evil 4. Absolutely amazing game, but bloody hard.
I have a few, but a couple spring to mind from different generations of computers/consoles.
Completing each Dizzy game on the Amstrad CPC.
My name at the top of the Pac-land highscore screen.
Completing Mario 1 and 3 (I hated Mario 2)... I also completed Sonic 1,2 and 3, but it wasnt the same.
I was hooked on the original Tomb Raider on the auld station... And I put a mammoth session in to complete it and once I cracked it... I was over the moon!
Beating my mate at Fifa in a pre-pub league (To win the league), he was nigh-on a pro and he used to throttle me and some mates.
Amonst others! :P
Completing the skeletons level on 'Roland on the Ropes'. My hands were literally shaking. I don't get that excited about computer games any more.
Getting to the East of England final in the PC World COD4 Tournament. Not that impressive as it was just PC World staff, but still.

Finally finishing an old RPG called Might And Magic 2 (came on 3 5.25" disks) - took me 4 years to complete because there was one specific grid square on the entire map that I had not walked over in one of the dungeons which contained a part of a specific item to kill the main boss. However having played for so long my characters all had ludicrously high experience points - we are talking trillions of experience points - and with some of my characters having 10,000+ hitpoints (base hitpoints for a 1st level character between 6-16 hitpoints usually). Unfortunately because of the way the information was stored my 'resistance to magic/elements' percentage rolled around back to zero if I used any of my uber powerful characters to cast the protection spells (not that they were needed at this point anyway) so had to rely on lower level hirelings to cast those two spells. Money was no object - billions in gold as well - and all this simply from playing the game on and off for over 4 years - and spending most of that time fighting against some respawning monsters in a particular grid square on map region E3.
Completing Zork II after being stuck at a particular spot for 6 months.
playing Morrowind for 600+ hours!!!
Praise the Nine!
Completing Halo on Legendary was fantastic. Mighty chuffed at myself I was.
But that was nothing compared to the day (20 years ago), I completed Jet Set Willy without cheating.
I'm talking about the CPC 60-screen version that appeared on the They Sold a Million compilation.
Took 9 months of practice (with some time-off here and there). I was smiling for weeks.
Completing Head Over Heels without cheats or maps was pretty fantastic too.
Scoring 3 freekicks out of 3 in one game on iss pro 98 with zidane. Doesn't sound too impressive but it was near impossible to score freekicks on that game and i was smiling all week.
1cc'ing Armed Police Batrider in "normal" mode. Still need to beat "expert", but I've moved to working on Progear.
Getting the #1 rank in Orbz ...
Completing almost every game I bought ever since my speccy days :)
Yeah I complete pretty much all of my games too.
I can complete most modern PC games despite not playing that much, but back in the Amiga, C64 and Spectrum eras I played for hours each day but don't think I completed a single game.
Games were much harder back then, but that just made it more satisfying. I recently completed CoD4 and just felt empty afterwards, same with Crysis. GTA3 and Vice City are really the only games I've actually enjoyed finishing and felt satisfaction at the end, most modern games feel like a wander through the graphics rather than a challenge.
I would love to finished Vice City but it is quite hard.
I have finished Resident evil 4 on PS 2 which it was best game I have play. (I havnt play Resident evil 0 yet but I going to buy them soon)
Reaching Elite Status in erm.. ELITE :D The final 'RIGHT ON COMMANDER' hung on the screen for so long that I thought the game had crashed :D
Cheers
Garion
Leading my WoW Guild to victory in Molten Core (this was long before the expansion), it took about 6 months work but was a huge pay off, I felt geuinely privalged to be one of those 40 people who accomplished that and to be someone who had played a pivotal role was even more delicous.
We had many other victories over other dungeons but MC was by far the most incredible, the huge amount of hard work we put into it was the main reason why.
Although I've quit WoW for over a year I do still get a bit of a lump in my throat when I watch the 2006 guild video which chronicled our achivements. I miss many of the great people I met and feel closer to some of them than many people I've known for years.
Of course for people like me the expansion (and the next one) was the death of WoW but nevermind all good things come to an end.
Greatest Solo achivement was compelting "Bard's Tale", me and a friend played seperately but sharing our infomation for about 4-5 months. Even though my friend got there first I still enjoyed finishing it immensly, one of the first fantasy outings and "Darkheart" was in that final team that assaulted and killed Mangar and freed the town of Skare Brae.
Darkheart
I got the Galaga High Score in Las Vegas...
And just last night I got to level 70...
----------------------------------------------------
Oh and beating my friend with JigglyPuff on the original super smash brothers. Not really an achievement, but a great moment because he talked it up all week just for me to destroy him that weekend.
But I never lose with JigglyPuff ;)
Apparently it's not becomming a psychopathic mass murderer, despite being exposed to violent video games the lions share of my life.
YOU LIE!
Getting a 17-up in Mario world.
Getting an amazing time on one of the ghost tracks on Mario Kart (SNES)
Scoring 901875 on Frenzy on the acorn electron (I can still remember the score 23+ years on)
Getting 120 stars in Mario 64
Completing all 96 worlds in Mario World
Completing Sonic 1,2 and 3 on my first play of them!!! (Sonic 3 took my second play to finish it with all the crystals)
Getting a highscore so large that the game doesn't know what to do with it.
I got 1,600,000 points (IIRC) in Qwirks, a tetris-style game. Except its highscore table could only hold 6 digits, and the simply didn't recognize that my score qualified for a highscore slot.
I actually went around an american city, robbing cars, shooting people, had sexual intercourse with prostitutes then run them over, done a little drug running too...
Yes... I bought GTA3!!! Go me
but back in the Amiga, C64 and Spectrum eras I played for hours each day but don't think I completed a single game.
Yeah I don't think I completed very many at all , they were just way too tough, plus rarely did they have save games - you just died and had to restart. It's because they were modelled after the arcade model which was designed to give the player a short game and take their money. However, I prefer it now that I can play a game and progress through it and enjoy the experience and not get frustrated with a billion deaths (maybe I'm just getting old ;-))
I like a game to be a challenge and I like having to option to save the game whenever I feel like stopping playing, but many games are so easy it just feels like it doesn't matter how you play it, you're going to win - CoD4 is a prime example. Of course, you can go too far the other way, as Medal Of Honour proved in that stupid sniper village level.
I think another great would be finishing goldeneye on the highest difficulty. Took me alot of attempts.
My biggest achievement in games is quitting WoW. =]
Mine would be learning japanese so I can beat some
of my import games.
I could win some of the easy ones without knowledge
of the language, but for the rpgs knowing the language
is absolutly essential.
Watashi wa Sono Sugoku WERDNA desuyo!

When I was 14 I rolled over the score on Defender on an arcade machine (back over to 000000) on ONE QUARTER. Surprised I didn't get carpal tunnel syndrome. Beat shareware Doom on ultra-violence.
Enduro on the old Atari VCS
Having beat the game a little trophy icon appeared on screen. In the booklet were instructions to send a snapshot of the screen showing the hiscore and trophy to the company who would then send back a prize of some kind. Exciting!
There were quite a few Activision games which had this feature
