touch screen on video cameras...

I was at college the other day, and the tutor asked me to operate the camera. It was new, he hadn't used it before. I struggled to find the cursor control for the two 'buttons' on the flip out menu screen. After 20 or 30 seconds I thought - surely this isn't touch screen - to my amazement it was! outrageous that you have touch screen technology on 2 inch wide video camera screens.

Yeah its great if you have tiny hands. Unlike me, I'd probably mash it into the table trying to work it.

I have a Sony HDC-HC3 video cam with a touch screen and I love it. :-)

My 4 year old cam has a touch screen, is really good, although when if first got it I didn't think I would like it.

Don't touch screen thingies break farily easy? That's the reason i'm wary of touch screen anything.

Umm, not to easily, I found that there about as robust as any like soft LCD screen, but to be fair I have had limited experience.

YOu don't have to jab the touch screen to work it. You just lightly place your finger on it. It's not gonna break if you don't manhandle it.

It's not for me. I'll end up getting angry and breaking it :O

My tablet screen is much stronger then a normal LCD, It has the backing (which has a metal piece surrounding it) for the electrostatic stuff for the wacom pen, the LCD scree and then a thin layer of glass-like plastic, very strong.

I wonder how long it'll be until they start implementing touch screens like that in the iPhone or the HTC touch into things like video cameras, from my experience with the HTC they seem to be pretty damn durable, as much so as like a standard phone screen.
