Free Textures?

Is there a website that holds free textures to use in freeware and commercial games that are royalty-free and license-free?

Another idea is to photograph the material yourself and create your own textures. For a grass texture, just go outside and take some pictures of grass from above and use a tool to edit the pictures to create a nice square texture.

You only need a digital camera and some tool to create seamless textures.

I use PaintShop Pro 9 to create my own high quality textures.

I got a fair few small ones for free too (128x - quite good for top-down, distance & 2d stuff).

goto my site -> click on textures -> demo,
then check only seamless and search for something like grass. Then right click -> save as to save them.

All those 128x thumbs can be used for free / royalty free.
They are licenced separately from the large sizes and its completely ok to use in a commercial game.
