None, its distracting.

[edit] We only did this a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, coding should be done late at night - in total darkness - with nothing to distract you. It's why I always do my coding with my clothes on.

Total silence is best !

But when I code for pure fun (no commercial value whatsoever), the radio is on in the background :o)

I do believe i asked this once.HeHe

it is called moderation.

as is most of the posts i put in.

otherwise don`t bother.

I like to listen to music from Retro Video Games that I
recorded and saved on my computer.
Mainly stuff from SNES Games, but I also have some
really cool tunes recorded from Guardian Heroes, and
NiGHTS into Dreams.

The Mighty WERDNA(Lord Of Music)

i use internet radio to keep me focused
mainly 60's and 70's music
like
eric clapton
elton john
jimi hendrix
david bowie

sorry GFK :)

Beatles or Jake Shimabukuro who plays a Beatles song in this link.

I love the Beatles and ukulele so there you go.

I don't have any music or TV etc on to distract me when I'm working either. Usualy work in complete silence.

I like to work in the dead of night with as few distractions as possible. There have been a few nights though that I let movies play in the background. Just a few weeks ago I had a very productive night by letting X-Men 2 play over and over in the background.

I agree, its much easier to code at night, with no distractions.

I listen : Dead can dance, mazzy star, elysian fields
when coding.

Wow, I can't believe that there is someone listening to Dead Can Dance except me. :O

Manson, Dead Can Dance... So you are black minded as I am :D

Let me add Lisa Gerrard, Skinny Puppy, Klinik and Kate Bush to Filax's post!

Heavy metal. Again. \m/

Also, lately, Grateful Dead.

Nothing usually, if I do it'll be mellow trance or something similar... Something that sits in the background.

If I want a break from coding I'll probably pick my guitar up though.

Trance, from digitally imported (shoutcast). But sometimes also classical music from the late 19th and early 20st century.. as long as it's dense and chaotic.. :P

Insane Clown Posse - Album - The Great Milenko :)

A varied range, anything from the Kaisers, Grimethorpe Colleiry Band to John Michel Jarre!

I'm not fussy! :)

@CS_TBL: Shoutcast is some good stuff, whenever I'm not coding I listen to it.

Right now I'm listening to Flyleaf. For everything. Including coding.

What coincedence! Just found out about Flyleaf as well. The lyrics from Cassie are pretty hard if you think about it, but it's a good song.

I usually listen to The Offspring, Fallout Boy, Panic at the Disco and Krezip. TRUST Company is cool as well.

elysium, psyclon nine, meshuggah, loreena mckennitt

But I prefer silence and late hours most of the time.

Insane Clown Posse - Album - The Great Milenko :)

Nice. You know good music when you hear it.

I listen to Benny Hill Theme Song.
Dont know what it is, youtube or google it. Lol.

No i really just play episodes of family guy or simpsons on a loop in the background. I do best with constant noise stimulation.

Internet radio:

Rock or Bluegrass
Sometimes Techno if I'm in the mood.
