Best Blitz Games Never Released

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Best Blitz Games Never Released

A gallery post got me thinking of all the games on there that never saw the light of day. Here are two:

http://www.toihlsa.com - Fantasy Action RPG
http://www.arxspace.com/ - Amazing Elite style spacesim, where you could go on the planets too.

I saw Arxspace at the last 2 blitzcoder/coderworkshops, then never to be heard of again.

Arxspace - 'last updated Saturday, 13 August 2005'.

Pity.

both games look excellent. The town screenshots in toihlsa look pretty special.

I just don't understand how projects like these just drop off. There's not even a "Sorry, project cancelled." Its like they just disappeared....

Probably the developer's situation changed and they didn't have time for it any more.

I remember a game called Ninja Karts. That was looking like a pretty sweet Mario Kart clone. It was back when Blitz2D ruled, and used a nifty (and fast iirc) Mode7 routine.

yes ninja karts was excellent, blitz3D seems to have killed a lot of the more innovative Blitz2D projects.

Did Dr Av ever get his Lander game done? I think he spent so much time helping everyone else he never did.

There was also a very nice French FPS "Chateux" something or other, around that I don't think ever quite saw the light of day. Some of the other french projects were very impressive.

There was that free MMO that did get off the ground but I don't know if it's still running...

I always thought it would be really interesting to do a 3D MOO in Blitz but I never got round to it and of course B3D isn't exactly MOO friendly.

I still think one of the best things I've ever seen done in Blitz is Platypus, not for the technical achivement but just for it's uniqueness. Which brings me nicely onto the Grand Daddy of Great Unfinished Games in Blitz: Geeet Oooorff My Laaaaand! *BOOM*

Yes, where the hell is Cletus? We want Cletus!!! He could even just pass it onto someone else to finish then split the profits.

Cletus is here: http://www.tunasnax.com/
