just wondered if you guys has any recommendations for commercial web hosting in terms of good price and reliability

for reasonable price vs reliability mediatemple are pretty good.

My experience is that it's best to choose a host in the same time zone as your main target audience - and as local as possible to that group as well.

Obviously you can't do that for truly global businesses, but when your peak online business time coincides with your host's housekeeping time you've got trouble! Just something to bear in mind.
