mp4 encoding for mobile phone

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/mp4 encoding for mobile phone

Hi, I just got a new phone (W890i) and I'm enjoying using it to watch episodes of shows on the train to work. Trouble is, the encoded files I'm creating often come out of sync audio to video, as I'm watching them - especially if I scan through to a point halfway through or something.

I'm encoding using either Compressor or FFMpegx, 128kbps for video, 320x180, 64kbps mono sound 44.1khz, which I would have thought would be fine. The audio and video both play perfectly well, but as I say come out of sync.

My question is: is there a setting during encoding that helps to sync better? Something like a keyframe that locks the signals together periodically?

i had the same issue. my solution was reducing the bitrates (audio + video), then it was in sync.

I figured as much... just need to keep trying different settings until I find a decent one I guess. Cheers...
