Floppy disk problem

I've been given an old printer for my kids to use on thier computer. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a floppy drive so I can't instal it.

My computer does have a floppy drive. Is there a way I can load the floppy discs onto a CD or USB drive and then fool the computer into using that for installation?

If it's just driver installation files on the floppy, it should have no problem installing from any other media long as they're readable on the source computer.

Buy a floppy drive. They're about £4.

if the driver is on floppy then the printer might be REALLY old

do they still sell ink cartridges for them?
just cos the printer is free if its on its last legs it might be more hastle than not

afaik some printers are just a tenner or so more than the ink cartriges they use

If I need one and am going into town I can buy one for £4.50. Tho I would have to say that the USB ones are cheap :-)

If the drivers are on floppy will it work with the OS ?
You could try and see if there are any drivers on the net for your printer.


And the answer to that is buy an expensive printer (a laser one would do), then the ink cartridges would look cheap.

Did you know that in the U.K. the price of petrol and diesel per a liter is still cheaper that printer ink per a liter.

You = fail.

You could print a heck of a lot longer with a litre of ink than you could drive with a litre of gas.
