This feature is rapidly becoming my favorite aspect of the Wii. This past week I picked up Axelay which was an SNES game from 1992. I remember renting it when I was a kid and being blown away by it but at the same time quite frustrated because it had a pretty steep difficulty curve. I beat the game today which was quite rewarding. The graphics are still pure eye candy. In fact I think I enjoy looking at some of these old 16-bit games with Mode 7 graphics more than some of today's high end 3D titles. I'm not sure what it is but the game's effects are just nice to look at. It's not all nostalgia either, it's just aesthetically pleasing. Next I want to delve into some more of the Neo-Geo titles they've got up there. That was one system I never acquired because the games were $200 a piece so even if I got the system I would only have ever had 1 game for it as a kid :9 Now the games are 9 bucks on the Virtual Console and they are still impressive. I guess I'm just a 16-bit era fanboy!

"Comix Zone" for the Sega Genesis is a perfect example of an old 16 bit game that still looks fantastic even in today's advanced 3d graphics. Some games are just like that.
I know exactly where you're coming from, Jeremy.
I love the Wii virtual console too, but its nothing compared to the original thing. I still play my Sega Genesis regularly :)

iplayer on wii / tv isn't brilliant quality, but good enough. iplayer also now works on linux, which means the linux box I have in the "gym" for backups / testing / playing dvds while exercising can now do bbc tv too...
...And my wife just announced she wants wii fit. And here was I thinking that I couldn't see anyone buying it here in the UK and repeating the success it's had in Japan...

I think wii fit is selling very very well in the UK, surprisingly. Anyone interested in it just google "sarcastic gamer wii fit", it's pretty funny.

Bomberman is a must have on the Wii, you can do like 8 players if you have GC controllers.
