Hmmm, I wonder what fps that gets, considering they claim it is realtime.

EDIT: the only awkward thing is, those are teapots - which makes no sense at all, they should be shattering! bad representation of a realistic physics system with destructible environments..

based on an advert.

It isn't a claim, its fact, and was shown at GDC. It was shown on a 650 dollar pc and a 1,300 dollar pc. The one in the video is a normal high end pc.

The impressive part is the lighting is all realtime. Beyond this, look at the polygon density:

When I first watched it I was totally convinced it was one of those demos which used photo backdrops and hidden polygons for collision. But thats not the case.

I also thouth that it was real photage with 3d generated teapots. But the whole thing is 3d, they are talking about Crysis photorealistic renderer in real time in the article. Looks really good.

If only leadwerks had this kind of technology he'd be rich by now ;)

Crytek's development team is comprised of game professionals from 27+ different nations. Crytek's office language is English.

Josh can't never be the above... these days lone coder can do only so much (little). Nice try though :)

Wireframe image is impressive, but you have to remember that in reality they enable occlusion culling for objects, no can draw that much stuff... and it would be stupid thing to even try.

Hello.

The demo is paying homage to an advert that was shown in the UK with lots of coloured bouncing balls going down the street - it might have been paint or something like that.

Whatever, that demo is really impressive.

Goodbye.

yeah.. it was shown as a tv-commercial in Norway as well.. :)
(with balls, not teapots..)

I think it's a sony bravia advert. The only thing that let's down the real time one is the people in it don't look very realistic, but there's no reasons that couldn't have been improved.
Given that this technology will become common place for games soon, imagine the possibility of Call of duty 6, or GTA 5.

I saw it in the US, though I can't remember if it was on the internet or the telly.

It was just surprising they used pots, kinda lame imo.

Josh can't never be the above...

Oh come on I'm sure Josh uses English too ;P

As for Leadwerks engine, I think you will be suprised :)

UNREAL ENGINE 4(for XBOX 720) will walk over cryengine2 I believe but dont know when they will show tech demo(maybe around 2010 or 2011)

cryengine2 tech demo is good but I believe they will make even better for cryengine 3 tech demo which can be good things for pc(and maybe console but I am not sure.)

Oh come on I'm sure Josh uses English too ;P

Nope - he's an american :) Sure, he's engine looks promising, but we've only seen bits from it. It's galaxies away from any big commercial engine and will be like that IMO. That doesn't mean it's bad, on the contrary... probably best "indie" product out there. But he just lacks the resources to really develop that and keep it alive like big companies can do.
