Tracer was banned ages ago for a comment he made when the Pope died.

I don't think he's ever returned since then or wanted to be unbanned.

I did hear though that he tried to take BRL to court over his banning but I can't say for sure if that's true or not.

ok i dont venture out of off topic much so i could be wrong on that count ;)
but with all the "other alternative to blitz" threads going im guessing alot moved on from blitz since (and i was away for a very long time ... in net years anyway)

If BRL could develop a version of Blitz that could create online games like Flash and Unity can, I would use Blitz to develop more...

Oh, is he the guy that threatened to sue BRL because a banning meant you couldn't download product updates?

Yeah, thats the story I heard too.

Not sure why he got banned, although he told more fairy tales than any of us care to remember. Stuff about owning his own spitfire, boat, a bunch of other junk.... oh, and some story about him claiming to be some big-shot at Lockheed or some other plane company. Maybe BRL just got sick of his ego. Everybody else did.

Several Blitzers have returned before and created virtually new identities. He's probably here amongst us now.

Personally, I don't think it matters if he is amongst us. BRL have let some reappearance cases pass quietly - I know they swooped on "Amon" on one of his reappearances. In general, I think most people have reappeared with success.

I'm pretty sure he isn't. I've known him since the STOS/AMOS days -- last time I spoke with him, he mentioned that he switched to a different language (C#, IIRC)

He has been gone for a while ... I don't remember him being around much past 2004. Plenty of early people are still around though. I've been around here since late 2001/early 2002.

Actually, yeah I'd forgotten about the old forum. I bought Blitz 2D in 2002 so I guess that makes me old-school? Hmm, shame my games still suck ;-P

No idea how long I've been here, but been posting code archives since 2001! I bought B3D when it first came out, and Guildhall invited me down to an open day! Never had B2D though.

I've been floating around here since mid-2000, bought Blitzbasic a few days after it came out. I think we've been through at least three or four forum changes in that time?

What's crazy is that end of this year, BlitzMax will be 4 years old. Whewee!

I used to hang out on ye olde forums here from about 2000 when my tutor at college told me first of b3D and then of a new language being written called Blitzmax. (yes, it WAS 2000.)

I'm thinking I was 2001 or 2002.... I bought into DarkBasic back in the day, then they screwed over a ton of customers which forced me to search out a new product, thus I found Blitz3D was going to be released in Sept. I waited about 8 months for it and purchased it the day it was released :-)

Now I think of it, Tracer got me onto the bb2d beta test. Crazy guy!

Either that, or he managed to hack into their systems and get himself a lockheed e-mail account.

I guess hacking Lockheed isn't the easiest thing, have to be good to do that :)

I saw a pic of him in that plane once, but Photoshop can do wonders I know....
