Has anyone else tried this game out yet?
http://www.konjak.org/The author plans to sell it (its made in MMF2) and I think that it will be very interesting to see how well it does as it`s very well done and has recieved lots of positive comments so far. MMF games are not sold that often but I think that this one will be a hit.
MMF has been getting quite a bit of attention lately and has HWA support coming in the not to distant future. Could be worth keeping an eye on if you can make games like this with it. Of course the author is the one with the real skill but I was pleasantly surprised.
Give it a go.
Jason.
Less abbreviations, next time? MMF? MMF2? HWA? I've no idea what you're talking about...
Ageed, absolutely no idea what you're going on about.
I think he means that this is a game made with MultiMedia Fusion. If anyone remembers The Games Factory, Multimedia Fusion is the next step up of Click and create software.
As for the game, it does look impressive with some really nice art. I'm just wondering how it could have all been done with Multimedia Fusion. :)
HWA?
Hicks With Attitude? :o>
I don't think I'd want the support of hicks with attitudes - neither now nor in the future. Attitude or no attitude, a hick is still a hick.
Looks good. I think the widely-overlooked Construct (http://www.scirra.com/) is probably a much better option than MMF for 2D stuff though. Its free too.
Sorry. MMF is indeed Multi Media Fusion and HWA means Hardware Accelaration which the program has lacked up until now.
I find it facinating that people are able to make games of this quality with tools that are only point and click. I also find it surprising that there are so few games like this made with Blitz products considering it is a more powerful tool.
Jason.
It's all in the people, not so much the tools.
I know but there are lots of talented people here too. I guess I`m just curious as to why no one seems to make these sorts of games with Blitz. There`s plenty of other great stuff but not many platformers strangely.
Jason.
That game is mainly impressive due to it's art content. The language used is pretty irrelevant. Most blitzvolke seem to be coders; artists, not so much. :)
As I understand the author did the graphics, music and coding in about six months or so if I recall. That is pretty impressive going using any tool.
Jason.
The game looks very polished and to be honest: the gamer doesn't care HOW the game was developed as long as it plays good and is fun!
