"puki" is somewhat notorious for his insane ramblings. At first they might seem funny, but after 2 or 3 years, believe me, his obsession with "sausages","larging","badgers", "oiling", etc. etc. gets really old.

You really should make an ogre wrapper for blitzmax :(

Who, me? I think the Flow team is already working on that - with all the effort they're putting into Flow I'm sure it will be better than anything I could whip up.

Only problem is, as far as I can tell Flow is being sold, however ogre is open source.

The bad thing about it, as noted on the last page of the review: it costs a lot for not giving the needed power to qualify for the cost.
Sure for the moment its great but already the intermediate generation might outperform it at a far lower cost (how it happened to the 8800GTS and GTS)

Flow will be sold, yes, but we have been working on it for quite some time (bear in mind I have a full time job...), it's not been a simple task so is some compensation really bad?

Out of curiosity, what beast of a rig would you need to run those kind of high-end cards at full speed?

450W PSU and an PCI-e x16 slot, thats it.

But if you want to make sure that you don't get in the sitation of cpu limited performance get a peryn based dual or quad core.

I thought was that you need at least 600Watts for that horsepower graphics!

If person Buy Quadcore and get those 3 Geforce 9800 X 2 Graphics in then you can code own Mega GTA(and that including person who can make high ploygens people, cars and medium ploygens for buildings ) making GTA 4 Graphics look Crap!

dont be fooled Quad + 3 GF 9800 X 2 wont give you the boost that you think it will,there is still the native Ram limitations,Harddrive speeds

also the driver for such a beast would cripple them as 90% of the code will be trying to sync the cards

ie Screen/6 renders if 90% of content is in the first section then the Cards Crawl since the other 5 need to wait for the first.

you should see improvements shaderwise and AA speeds should improve also screen resolutions could be pushed into the 4000+ mark

Put it this way. You won't be cpu-limited with the current batch of CPUs.

I just upgraded to dual 8800GTX cards. My cpu is only a 4800X2, but I'm getting good framerates out of everything I have tried, including Crysis so it'll probably be a few months before I worry about the cpu/mobo/ram.

As long you got Sheid Ram that can stand the heat but in the future...I wouldnt be surprize if I see a Freezer Mobo/Ram that handle 3 or 4 Graphics cards in one go.

I already know there is Specail Freezer on top of the CPU(such High Extreme CPU) to cool the CPU Down.

Looks like it is fragment processing limited. Not much better than the high-end 8800s, but fortunately this is causing the price of the 8 series to drop.

TH card seems pretty good considering that it keeps up with 2 8800 ultras in SLI. The price is high but not so bad compared to coughing up for two Ultras.
