no thats not 89 euros

USD -> EUR is normally 1:1 when it comes to selling prices of stuff thats sold here and in USA. not the real currency dependencies.
+ EU has 16-2x % VAT

The GTS is quite slow at high resolutions in the comparrison chart at toms hardware. About 30 -40% slower than the GT at 1600x1200. But within 10% at 1024x768

and you are sure that you checked the 8800GTS, not the 8600GTS Evak? ;-) Because the 8800GTS is normally in the 300 USD range, not the 150 USD (as well according TH march 08 graphic card comparision article)

The GTS runs perfectly fine at high resolutions. I play TF2 at 1920x1200 with 2xAA and anistropic filtering and it runs great.

I was just going by the VGA comparrison chart below. I didn't say it wasn't fast, just for an extra $50 over the GTS price you can get a much faster card at high res.

You're looking at the older and slower version of the GTS. The 320/640MB versions are the older card, while the newer one is the 512MB card. That's why it seems so cheap.

the old one isn't slow at high resolutions as well.
Thats why I bought it back then, the only one beside the ultra expensive GTX back then, that does not die down at my native resolution of 1680x1050

There is no "slow at high resolution" 8800 GTS beside the 320MB Version which clearly is short of VRAM which is why it should only be used for 1280x1024 and not any higher.

I never said it was. I was merely pointing out that the card in the ad was slower than the newer 512MB GTS, hence why it seemed really cheap. I actually have one of the older 640MB versions myself - bought for the same reasons as yourself.

I use the 320 GTS and it runs everything fast.

Dont matter, no one in the casual game market is going to upgrade their graphics card, even if it's free. Sigh...

Hehe, I wish I could afford to get any one of those cards. Unfortunately I need to upgrade everything else first.
