from what I understand its all the previous updates since SP2 plus some optimizations. There were some claims of as much as 10% performance increase in the early betas with every day tasks.
Not sure how much of that stuck with the final release.

Does this mean it will remove IE7 (no big deal)
I have herd of some speed improvements too, however i am concerned about this NAP thingy. Could it be this that has caused me many problems with vista and networking?

Windows XP SP3 includes all previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates and hotfixes, and select out-of-band releases. Windows XP SP2 was released in August 2004. Since then, Microsoft has released hundreds of updates. Windows XP SP3 includes all of these updates.
Microsoft is not adding significant Windows Vista functionality to Windows XP through SP3. However, SP3 does include Network Access Protection (NAP) to help organizations that use Windows XP to take advantage of new features in the Windows Server® 2008 operating system. Networking between Vista and XP is fine since the release of Vista SP1.
Good to know. Ive been waiting for the gunniepigs (aka everyone else) to try it first, because if vista messes up i have to reinstall 3 OSs not just one.
(unless someone can enlighten me how to get vista to install without messing up the bootloader)

I've installed SP1 on both my Vista PCs without a single problem. The only downside is that it takes a while (a little over an hour).

I had SP3 on this machine for a week or two. I did notice that the system boots up much quicker than it does with sp2 but I got alot of random application crashes .. "blah has encountered a problem and must closed etc..".
I'm not 100% sure but I think it may have been the cause of other random errors with some of my Blitz programs. I unistalled it as a result.
