New Joystick

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these! The new line of Microprose hardware looks great, but I am really digging this joystick.

The "stick" part looks like one of the old Atari joysticks. It gives me that nostalgic feeling, I would guess it is not a digital switch though (at least I hope not)

it does have that atari look to it now you meantion it
myself im sticking with my 360 usb pad (when i can be bothered playing pc games that is)

Atari 2600 joysticks were the best ever.

I doubt many modern controllers would stand up to a damn good thrashing on Decathlon.

What's odd about that Microprose one, though, is that it seems to be designed for left-handed people?

im guessing its cos weve used the left hand for the dpad ever since nintendo made us

if the curser keys were on the left i wonder if wsad would have evolved

we only had those joystick waggling sprained wrists cos of the single button ... wasnt the arcade two buttons bashed repeatedly in an alternationg pattern?
oh the hollow shaft sticks that died at the hands of that game (well the player ;) )

Oh yeah! The rubber handle fell off one of mine and as a kid I use to squeze the air out and stick it to my forehead like a dalek from Dr Who. However this led to a Bindi dot being temporarily left on my forehead like a hicky when my brother yanked it off, lol.

I think the Competition Pro 9000 would give it a run for its money though!

the compy (if its the one im thinking of) was ok for the left/right handed issue
didnt feel as right though
micro switches were rugged better than some blade ones that lasted the time it took to load a (cassette) game

and im pretty sure they had a factory near Oldham where i used to live as some one saying he worked their was always getting games (and iir leaving sticks)
