Top down prespectives

Hey guys, the game I'm currently working on has a top down view.

Its not going to look great (not intending on selling it) because I'm doing all the art work.

But I need some help. I've only ever made characters/items from a horizontal prespective, does anyone know of any games ect that can give me an idea as to how to do this?

What i'm looking for specificly is characters, (this is involve some military units) and buildings, (you'll have 2 buildings you can see).

Try World Creator . It can do 2D Top-down if you mean a Zelda-a-like perspective.

Yeah I prefer slightly angled top down so you can see their faces...

Yeah, I gave up trying to make a topdown character in photoshop... so i've redone the fighting map..

Also where do i go about finding some "base" characters? Ones that I can add detail to, for creating additional personel.

did you see this http://charas-project.net/resources.php it was in a thread just above yours. it might help. i saw some top-down characters in there you might be able to mod.

Yeah, I got a few good base characters to photoshop and add stuff to em.
