i wanted to see wheter people using XP can run my Vista EXE or not.
thank you.
Works fine here. Running XP.
what a relieve to hear :)
i get a screen with the words cut off at vist
and a white spinning box
i take it thats all im meant to be getting
XP sp2
It works perfect for me in XP SP2
It should be a spinning oblong/rectangle/cube thing.
I don't see a ClearWorld() in your code - I won't stand for sloppiness.
thanks for trying guys. i think it is compatible afterall.
puki: how d'you know that? blitzHacker?
Maybe I pretended I knew that, just hoping I was right? Maybe I was engineering you to the next step?
Maybe I can reverse engineer any standard Blitz3D exe back to source?
Maybe I am god?
One day you will meet me and find your answers.
Or, you just guessed, as ClearWorld() is hardly ever needed.
maybee its that i never ever use clearworld in that kind of application...
or maybee if i'd say "but i did use clearworld afterall" and you were just guessing, you would be shocked by now?
Well, it wasn't in the source code - not unless you have re-hosted the exe.
You can't get the original source code from an exe. Give it up.
but you can actually find out what functions are used using the blitzHacker somewhere in the code archvies.
you may find out which funtions, classes, arrays, variables etc. you use.
Sure, but puki said 'it wasn't in the source code'.
"not in the source code" means about the same as "function not used". check out the code archive entry puki posted.
Regarding Russians:
puki (Posted 1 year ago)
They used "sswifty's" to build their own.
I've been watching that lot for several months - they were stealing code from each other - there was more than one faction working on this - I found mutliple systems with the same data which indicated they were stealing from each other.
The trail leads on - the disassembler(s) are still there.
You can't get the original source code from an exe. Give it up.
technically thats not true. You could disassemble the exe, convert the resulting machine code back into blitz commands and there you go. This is ludicrously difficult tho and a waste of time :)
hardly.
But you lose all names, remarks etc. during compilation, so you can never get back to the original source code. ;)
What is lost, must be invoked. I can lose a piece of cheese in anywhere in Birmingham, but a large rodent can find it quicker than me. What is the invoker?
