Pontiac Spy Hunter commercial
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Pontiac Spy Hunter commercial I doubt it will be much fun to drive, I was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP out in Canada a few months ago and it was an annoying car to drive. Typical US car, large engine/low yield, as enviormentally friendly as a bucket of napalm, handles like a brick, tonnes of power but it can't put it down on the road, no grip and a cheap plastic finish.
They can tout it as a compeitor to the 5 series if they want but anyone who's driven the Beamer (or any other car genuinely in that class) is going to see through that straight away.

its not got the same hook as the renault transformer advert
even if you dont like the car atleast it harks back to your youth when you wished your parents car could transform
this one is just a bit too gimiky
if this happened round the time of spy hunter (with 80's video tech) it would be more impressive and good for the game (and perhaps the car too, to those old enough to drive but still young enough to go to arcades)

Since it's a rebadged Australian made rear wheel drive it probably won't suck. Certainly should be nothing like the Grand Prix.
I prefer Japanese cars, it must be said...
lol
Looks very CGI. Also prefer the Spy Hunter 2 intro...

You're missing the whole point of the ad. It's targeted to the C64 generation who are now older, have jobs and are the prime candidates to buy the new 365hp Pontiac.
perhaps im not
aside from gamer nostalgia its using an old game to sell a new car
other cars end up pimping themselves as the car that the hero drives in xyz tv show or movie
now the exact same campain used in the 80's with 80's cgi would be more impressive
nigh on every highschool in tv's and movies have kids driving cars
these kids would be the prime demographics for the 80's campaign none of the tv kids are driving beaten down hand me downs or their moms cars ... so if reality is true then if this advert came out in the 80's when spy hunter was out theyd garnish more interest
hitting the nostalgia button dont always work with buyers
the advert may be 'cool' but i still like the real life transformers adverts ... but having said that neither campaign is getting me closer to buying a car

So this is basically the successor to the GTO/Holden Monaro... G8 just doesn't have the flair to it's name that Firebird or GTO has. But 365hp... Vera nice.
