Physics Ball Games

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Physics Ball Games

Im Currently have a Ball/Physics Game in the making looking for research material for some inspiration at the moment its a basic sandbox affair while testing/debugging but i would like to add as much playability as possible.

Planning On supporting Timed Races
Objectives ie Hit the nice shiney Pillar :)
Changing Shape/Mass and maybe a few Launchers to control for fun..

1. Looking for links to Physics Games you think Rock..
2. What gets up your nose about the interfaces in these types of games
3. What Form do you prefer Race/Puzzel/Destruction
3. What would you like to see added to the within the game

A bad camera. I hate spending more time trying to see where I'm going, than actually controlling the ball.

3. What Form do you prefer Race/Puzzel/Destruction
Race bores me silly. Puzzle is good, with a bit of destruction thrown into the mix for fun.

As to other similar games, my first thoughts were Super Monkey Ball (the mini-games in that were great fun with 2 or more players) and Marble Blast Ultra. Both console games I think, unless the latter also came out on PC?

this thread talks about a game already out that caters for the puzzle mass changing aspects

game is called ballance

similar games are bound to pop up just like the drawing physics game
but as with geometry wars who can tell when the lawyers will get involved

edit:
youve already posted in that thread so you dont need telling about it ;)

yeah balance is a nice game but way down the ranks looks and plays like a four week project..

btw nobody can put claim to a physics simulation except the author of the project and the author of the physics engine and then the only other comparison is interface and control easily modified :)

edit:
Was It out before Switchball check that out

theirs nothing worse than being too close to the look and feel of something and having the rug pulled from under your feet

my on hold deflektor hommage will try not to be like deflektor but still retain what i love about deflektor
also without treading on the toes too much of other lazer puzzle games which i admit only rotate by quater turns not 16
and now i find their is a board game called khet i have to worry about too
but all this is moot as i cant seem to find the time after a 12 hour day at work to engage my brain enough to do anything simple

its not like im doing something safe like pac man or pong
one is owned via buy outs by atari (iir infrogrammes got gremlin's back catalogue ip and changed their names) the others are plentiful and too generic so im avoiding them to not be 'just another' and back to the first ive been asked not to make a level for level carbon copy (even though one does exist)
