Ballance - Damn!

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Ballance - Damn!

I came across a video of this game while looking at Fraps, a tool for capturing videos in games:

The video can be found here:

The polish on this is great. There's only one thing wrong with it that I can see... The Atari site says it has only 12 levels! A game like this needs more than that. Even for $9.99. At a minimum they should have included at least 30. And if they'd included 50 they could have charged $20 for it.

looks really nice. This looks good too, I am not sure how they used this to make it, but they do thank them for the tool: http://www.3dviamp.com/

Looks pretty good

Yeah - that's Virtools for you. :)

IPete2.

i have this game and love it. You can actually download an extra level called "the twilight zone" but its damn hard as hell.

I too have this game and can testify that it is great. I played the hell out of it. Great style and game play. I love the fact that you can turn into a newspaper ball. Get it.

i watched a 10 minute youtube on one of the later (bonus?) levels
ok they knew what they were doing in the level but as your first attempt is all trial and error you cant help but think
"if i f**k this up and ive got to do the level again from scratch, this will be the longest 10 mins of my life"

If you really like this game, you can pick up the "finished" version called Switchball on XBLA.

it's like marble madness isn't it ?

..boring..

Nuaghty Alien, if you don't have nothing nice to post, don't post anything.

lol

Im currently working on something similar just with a bit more bang to the buck. They have a nice smooth physics setup beleave me it aint easy to achieve.
I enjoyed the demo but way to simple plus very linear a>b>c>d objectives are a drag

i kinda agree with naughty alien
ok perhaps he could have said more as to why

ive not played the game i doubt my gfx would work
but ive watched the youtubes
ok watching someone else play isnt as good but it shows you the whole level completed in one life ... a walkthrough for lack of a better word

as you only have one route to go the game play is very linear and untill you come across a puzzle their aint much to do ... hell the 10 min one i meantioned up there
some of the puzzles relied on you doing something 3 mins before hand and if you f**k up you f**k up and im guessing have to do it all again

not to bad on the smaller screens but a 10 min level ?!?

as you only have one route to go the game play is very linear and untill you come across a puzzle their aint much to do

Being the game based on physics and ability, the matter (mostly) it's not about how to do something, but actually doing it. The puzzles are a nice change of pace and fit well in the setting but are not vital.

It's somewhat a new marble madness with a relaxed background: it surely appeals to a wide audience due to the atmosphere and the fact that you can take your time before pulling out the stunts... so even though it's in the same league of Super Monkey Ball and Marble Blast, it pulls of an original concept instead of being a clone of the aforementioned (and it really excels in design).

I agree... also because it's so good it actually deserves more levels. But it's great while it lasts.
