$50,000 for a game engine with no track record at all? Yeah, I'd call that a bit pricey.

That's a problem with a lot of the Engines I've seen. I can't remeber the secific engine because the website seems to have gone but they were charging in excess of $5000 for a pro license and claiming the Engine was bug free and could do all sorts. It's only when I joined thier forum on a guest account that I read the horror stories and what people really thought of the engine.

But yeah, alot are expensive and claim to do this and that but really don't offer anything that couldn't be done say in OGRE.

There was one engine where the devs kept on changing the name of the 3D Engine they sold but neglected to tell new customers that it was just a renamed engine, still a bugfest and not worth the money at all.

I remember this one. Was a terrible engine, crashed more often than an asian stereotype and had terrible support for ATI cards.

Wonder if they improved. Kind of doubt it- the pricing they're aiming for seems to indicate a general disregard for overall quality and targeting a great quantity of sales instead.

Wow, these things sure fetch a high asking price. Bring back the Amiga days of much lower prices creative software.

Ok, but in return, you have to accept much lower quality software. Things aren't as simple and low-quality as they were on the Amiga.

Yeah but it isn't as hard to research stuff to do it correctly as back then thangs to the internet and google. you can do stuff in a fraction of the time you needed back then where you had to find book XY if it existed at all etc

A not road tested engine, and just at version 0.4, very slow on my PC(well, FX5200 is OLD, but it runs well).

I can save $2500 for better technologies like Torque/PowerRender/TV3D.....

Anyone with $50,000 to spend can afford to research the market properly and you can do a LOT better for $50,000. I bet they haven't sold much yet and I doubt they will.
