Hah, that looks ace! I'd just sort of ignored this after seeing that other battlefield spin-off on the consoles.

I didn't think EA would go all out on the cartoonyness......I laughed when I saw people riding on the wings of a place. <.<

May be a nice complement to TF2 if the end-result isn't bad (and ad-infested).

This is a great idea for a game, I especially support the not being killed by an ultra skilled 15 year old that plays the game all day.

But is this really possible? It seems that the world cannot handle MMO's because of this fact... look at the number of WoW, Halo and Call of Duty 4 fiends there are. You can't make a game like this that people don't get ultra serious about and ruin it for us normal people.

But I do love the concept (free, accessible, no fiends), and I'm really hoping it will succeed in being the first MMO to win the war against the lifeless people.

How can you not like the competition? ultra skilled 15 year olds make it fun!

Did anyone else feel a little disgusted that its a WW2 themed presentation, thats desinged primaraly to be zainy, cartoony and 'fun'?

once the "real" was out of the way it reminded me more of infrogrames hogs of war (which wont run on XP :(( )
im guessing alot of people will find ANY war game thats been tooned up offensive not just those about ww2
even hogs of war's unrealistic portrail of (turn based) killing could be seen in a different light if the pigs wernt pigs but people cartoon or not

perhaps they just didnt want another ultra realistic game

if you play any FPS you accept that you are going on a killing spree no matter what the game is togged up to look like
doom vs hell
serious sam vs aliens
unreal tournament vs other humans for sport
but put a ww2 uniform and for most it has to be "gritty realistic true to history" least thats how ive viewed all the fps/campaign games going

if its cos its 'comical' then ban allo allo too

The game looks cool. Can't wait to play.

My assumption is that it was cheaper to create a stylized game as you can make liberal use of tthus lending to lesser polys/textures needed to get the job done, as well as having lower system requirements because of that.

I'm just hoping they rip-off TF2's context sensitive emotes and facials, because after having played over 50 hours of TF2, all the other online FPS games I used to play just feel lifeless in comparison.

shooting a cartoon easter bunny in the face with a rocket launcher = fun
shooting a highres pollygon enemy in a fps = fun
its a game ergo game = fun
wonder if they have a testikill?

alot of people would take offence to a fps having a level set in a highschool (and a church for that matter) yet to others its just another level

To say that FPS games have no effect on some of the people that play them would be a lie. The startling number of gory and violent games on the market today almost scares me and it brings to question if our society has grown cold to the realities of death and destruction.

At the same time, those are usually the ultra realistic games. Games that are shooters but non violent (i.e. Donkey Kong 64, where you shoot players with fruit) have little or no effect on the psyche of an individual. Because this game has cartoons that play in a real setting, it flirts with the line.

you could say "killing is killing" be it a cute bunny or a semi automatic toting nazi or some demon from hell

atleast if it came to pass we'd have enough nut jobs to defent the earth from hell and beyond :))

They'd have to make guns that operate via mouse and keyboard if that ever happened.
