Didn't see this anywhere here.

It should be interesting ... though there's some feat that Rockstar will pull out of Take-Two and then the GTA franchise will be a hollow shell.

I wish companies like EA and Microsoft would realise you can't buy a company and then expect a good returns by that company continuing to make good games for them.

Look what happened to Rare, bought out by Microsoft, most of the best staff left and made another company. Rare hasn't made a single good game under Microsoft.

if EA buys Take 2 then it will be one less for the decent software market. I can see EA and Microsoft being the only publishers left soon till one buys the other.

Weird, I keep seeing this headline but nobody has tried the obligatory awful pun! I'll have to do it myself...

@ "EA tries to Take 2" (;-)

Rare hasn't been making a good game even before microsofts ownership, otherwise Nintendo woulnd't have sold them :) (there last good game was banjo kazooie and that was years before the deal)

And as long as Sony and Nintendo are the leading console creators, MS and EA will definitely not beeing the only one. EA has not even a "secure backbone". They a trash on the PC market if you remove Will Wrights genius on Sims and Spore (not sure if fifa makes more than its sponsored tournaments costs + FIFA license cost).

MS at least has the X360 thought that one definitely only survives thanks to the cross funding of Microsoft itself

Doesn't Take 2 handle the 2K sports series? That would be one set of franchises shut down right away, and no more competition for EA sports titles.

Apparently they do.

I personally don't want Take2 to give into EAs money. They're holding well enough on their own, so what's the point in just selling it to a larger company which will just put further restrictions/due-dates/forced-sequels onto their hands?

2k had its hand in dungeon seige right? I think EA needs to stick with what they've got, and just lump it. I forget who started it and im to lazy to scroll up but if they take over all these companies there will be less of a variety of good creative original games. In the US I have noticed that All these car companies that buy up all the other car companies their designs look the same. Take Ford and Mercury. They are both owned by ford. Alot if not all of the cars look almost exactly the same just with different names. I dont want to see this in the gaming industry.
