Game Demo?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Game Demo?

Hiya all

I have play SEGA Rally Revo Demo and it is brillaint apart from UNFAIR Computer AI which they were too good at time.

What the best game demo have you play?

Assassin's Creed for the PC - I played the demo yesterday - very lush.

Doom.

Best. Demo. Ever.

oo! assasins creed demo!!! /me runs off to download it....

Edit: Can't find the demo!

Of all-time : Doom (free deathmatch!)

Of recent notice : TrackMania Sunrise (people made some damn creative maps online using the limited tileset available in the demo, and I mean *really* creative, kept playing the demo against others online until I could find a copy locally.....a month later)

trackmania! my lost love! I wish they'd hurry up and make it for XBLA so I can play it again.

Demos which lead me to buying the game:

Tomb Raider 1, Duke Nukem 3D, Colin McRae Rally 1, Big Red Racing, Tiger Woods Golf 2004, Urban Chaos, Messiah, Future Cop, Tomb Raider Legend.

I think that's about it!

Definitely the ID ones (doom/wolfenstien/quake) as they gave you an entire quarter or even a third of the game, complete with completion point (the first big bad boss).

Tomb Raider Legend.
The demo frustrated me. I got stuck on a bit where I ended up in a hole with two giant cubes and a see-saw.

Yeah, i was stuck there for a while. I just wasn't used to the tomb raider puzzles being solved by NOT pressing a switch :o)

My GF actually solved that puzzle by suggesting i push the boxes onto the see-saw in which i replied "You can't do that in tomb raider games!"

Hmmm...

I found sega rally revo kind of like trying to race bars of soap. I did like the graphics and the use of normal maps to creat thick wads of gloopy mud on the car. That was pretty cool. I just wished the controls were a bit tighter.

Ross C: you do actually push the blocks onto the see-saw, it took me a whiel to figure that one out. I think you need to put one on one end and the other under the other end, then you can run up the log thing and jump onto the ledge.

I used to play demos on CD on PC Format all those years ago and several of those lead me to purchase games. Nowadays plenty of casual game demos have led me to buy games.

Just a warning/heads up on the Trackmania demos

Last time I installed the 'demo' it basterdised my system by installing Starforce copy protection (at Ring 0 level)

Universe At War. The only demo I've played in recent times that inspired me to buy the full game.
