I thought gameSpace was rather good.
Do you think that this join will affect Caligari product prices?
What Moraldi, you mean someone will actually want to buy Truespace?
I think MS is basically partnering itself with 'small fish', so that its not threatened by the smaller company and if it looks like they can make any decent money , they can buy them out pretty cheaply. Same with the game creators.
It would have made a lot more sense for MS, if they cared for their users, to parent themselves with Softimage, as Microsoft owned it a while ago, and it has inbuilt support for .net languages and XNA stuff. But that would mean some kind of help would be given to Avid (who owns softimage).

lol!
Gamespace was terrible and if anyone thinks otherwise they are clearly incapable of recognizing good tools from bad. Microsoft will probably end up making the tools free because there's sure as hell no way they could sell that trash.
Caligari....... oh I know. Thats where they had the winter games in 1988, right?
Thank god Microsoft aren't intrested in Cinema 4D. I would hate it if they got hold of it and f**ked it up.
so far microsoft has hardly ever destroyed a tool they aquired. Normally exactly the opposite happened, as expression Design or Windows Defender show
MS have announced they have bought Caligari:

I dont really see anything of theres worth buying but I guess it would be cheaper than buying Autodesk or maxon
"I guess it would be cheaper than buying Autodesk or maxon"
Knowing Microsoft they will charge a extortionate price like they do for Office and their OS's. And besides you get what you pay for with Autodesk or maxon.

Not possible.
Because the current caligary software is extremely overpriced for what it offers. Especially compared to Maxon, Carrara and others on that price segment.
Game Space was the worst, overpriced piece of software I've seen for a long time. It was a pure rip off of "indie devs" that didn't do enough research to see the serious problems etc.
MS Office Pro is a seriously large suite with many tools etc and quite inexpensive. If you compare Access or Outlook on their own with other business level applications in that sector, then it most likely would cost on its own as much as Office Pro does.
The regular "home user" version of it, since office 2007 even called like that costs 150 USD. Don't see how this should be overpriced.
Beside the fact that MS offers student licenses at an acceptable price. Not like Discreet and Adobe with their massively overpriced student licenses (they are a serious ripp of. at the price of a 3D Studio Max student license, you get Carrara 6 Pro non upgrade or zbrush 3, both non student logically)
