I have an ATI X1600 graphics card. Does OpenGL run (at all/well) on that card? There is so much stuff about it on the web I can't sift out the important information. Some people were saying ATI will never make OpenGL drivers for Vista while elsewhere it almost looks as though they have already. I intend to be running BlitzMax on Vista and will need OpenGL.
BlitzMax OpenGL on ATI Vista?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/BlitzMax OpenGL on ATI Vista? You could always send ATI a email and ask, and see if they answer.
EDIT: I would like to add that now I stay away from ATI cards.

"Native OpenGL Windows Vista support
* Catalyst 7.1 introduces native support for OpenGL, delivering a number of OpenGL application performance gains over the previously released AMD Vista RTM driver (8.31.100.3.2.1). Future Catalyst releases will include further OpenGL optimizations to further enhance performance of Vista OpenGL applications"
I guess I should've just researched a bit more. Looks like it probably is supported. I just wondered if anyone here has an ATI card and is running OpenGL okay under BlitzMax, ie any issues?

I had a Radeon 9600 up until a month ago - OpenGL stuff does not work at all. I couldn't even use the Aero theme in Vista using the latest drivers.
I need to run BlitzMax on Vista, too. That's why I've just bought a GeForce 7600GT.

Ati AND vista is asking for opengl problems.
Its ok with latest drivers and my x1950pro not as fast as xp but almost. I give you exact figures but I formated my hard drive and put xp back on 2 days ago because of unrelated software issues with vista
Because?
because?
I had issues with my sound card drivers not being as reliable in vista, the xp drivers gave a better low latency with less cracks and pops. as i use fl studio and do alot of recording of guitar etc this isnt good enough.
The latest catalyst drivers (released 16th Jan, can't remember the version number) are a lot better for openGL then prior releases. I've not tried them on Vista as yet, but the xp release was a whole lot more stable than prior releases (which I did have working on Vista).
Not sure how they fair with Bmax, but it certainly solved a lot of my OpenGL issues.

Pete - oh, sorry to hear that, but I was asking about OpenGL not sound. :-)
Works for me.
