BlitzPlusDemo, where to download?!?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/BlitzPlusDemo, where to download?!?

I was about to try BlitzPlus, but there is no demo?
After searching i found a small link at the bottom of this page
http://www.blitzbasic.com/Products/blitzplus.php
But thats broken.

Whats with the demo? Im not gonne buy it without testing the demo :P

I wouldn't buy it anyway.

Get Blitzmax + MaxGUI.

Agreed. (possibly skip the GUI if you wanna save money)

Whether the GUI should be skipped depends on his goals, wouldn't it? It's highly convenient to have some native GUI stuff for the quick game editor and other stuff like that.. (and iirc it's not exactly expensive either)

Yeah, it's not there at least for the moment but it looks like you can get it here.

Oh.

Ignore what Dreamora said. Blitzplus won't help with that problem at all. He's correct in that you won't have 2D rotation/alpha, but you still won't be able to change colours within images any easier than you could with Blitzmax.

`lol, ive seen the demo. heck no. whatever they say....
:P
blitzmax it is.

CS_TBL: true.

Its simpler in that way, that BlitzPlus / Blitz3D have buffers which BM still lacks 2+ years post release, even though Indiepaths and others have through modules in that show how it could be approach.

In BM you have Pixmaps and Images.
One that can be rotated and scale and one that is 10 times slower and ignores many of the setXYZ commands.
Its possible with them as well, he got quite a few hints.

and if he is planning to support older / office like system, BM isn't an option at all ... at least till there is an official DX9 module that removes the problems with intels inexistant DX7 hardware acceleration support.

But isnt BlitzPlus slower then BlitzMax?
When i tested i was horrified.

True, but Indiepath's render-to-texture approach also doesn't work properly on many video cards -- you can never count on it working on all systems.

It greatly depends on the video card you have -- Blitzplus needs a video card that's good at 2D, Blitzmax need s avideocard that's good at 3D.

Most of the new video cards mainly focus on 3D and have slow 2D drivers, so blitzmax can be considerably faster. Old generation cards tend to be faster with Blitzplus than Blitzmax.
