Sounds absurd to me. Does it mean effectively, you could be dismissed from your job based on the results from a computer program?

That would mean our work systems would be permanently running in 'Defcon 4' mode

I don't need a monitoring system to tell me I'm mental and that I need to get out more :-p

Thats twisted that is. Sounds like another typical "US-Corporate efficiency" idea. Lets hope it is convicted by the EU courts AGAIN but this time for breaching human rights or something.

It reminds me of those stupid tests where you have questions like:

If you saw a window open in febuary but were not cold would you:
A) Close it as its feburary and its cold out and is wasting energy.
B) Leave it open as it may be open for a good reason.
C) Leave it as its not your job to close stuff for other people.
D) Find out who left it open and ask them why.

However, those tests took the "cake" this new idea takes the "Pi*s!".

I would find another job if my employer decided to do this with a large rude rant about the ever growing "Fascism of Efficiency" in my resignation.

These days employers do all kinds of screenings. In big corporations things like whether your a firstborn amongst your siblings can be important for higher positions that require a lot of disciplin and responsibility. Because of the way they tend to be brought up, they seem to be higher achievers academicaly and in business somewhere around 70%.

What about children with no siblings? I'm academically gifted but I'm pretty useless in the world of business (or, unfortunately, employment).

I wonder if I'm atypical or some sort or aberration...

Back on topic: I would refuse to work for any employer who implemented these monitoring methods. This is for two reasons:

1) they represent a fundamental invasion of one's privacy.
2) outside of academia, I'm a lazy, unmotivated arse. I would welcome any opportunity for unnoticed slacking.

Iam not worry about privacy. it dose not exist anyway.

Unfortunately, if your unemployed, you have to accept any reasonable job offer - otherwise your JSA money goes south - I dont think this would be good grounds to refuse a job that used this.

I'm looking for work too - anything thats highly paid, and with absolutely no responsability to do fine.

Sorry but its total predjudice, pure and simple. Why should someone be discriminated against because theyre a second born child or an only child? Total BS. If they said the same about black people or women it would be totally unnaccepable so why should this be allowed. Its none of their business how many siblings you have or your personal life!

In the same way, this will discriminate against anyone who decides (!!through FREEDOM of choice!!) not to excercise regulary, smoke or eat all the pies but can still do a good job when sitting at their desk.

Why dont they just "breed" us all to be perfect like in that film Gattica.
