RealmCrafter are FINALLY selling RPG characters:

Rigged, but not animated:

Personally, I think they need to supply more info regarding the models - especially what the animations are - poly counts, etc.

Personally, I think they should sell them in packs at a reduced price.

They are not the best-looking ones I have seen. However, there is a fair amount of them.

The quality isn't great, but they do have one major thing going for them which people often overlook. They're consistent. If you're making an RPG, there's nothing worse than buying 50 models from 10 different sites and then trying to get a consistent appearance for your game. At least you won't have that problem with these models.

Well for Blitz the quality is actually not really bad. If you consider it for TV3D it might be different naturally :)

Personally, I use the Dark Messiah models as they look fantastic and have hundreds of animations:

Unluckily there are people prefering legal models to use :)

Yeh, but the Dark Messiah ones are really, really gorgeous:

Hundreds of animations - all for the price of a game.

The first person to produce even a reasonable vidgame character generator is going to clean up big time on the indie scene.

It honestly hadn't occurred to me that using TV for about 18 months might have changed my perspective, but the more I think about it, you might be right.

as an active user of TGEA I know what you mean ... but "reasonable models" for that quality level cost 100-200USD per models if you want animations, textures (+ normal and specular maps) etc ... and even then its hard to find good places to find them :-)

the models you can buy on the Realm Crafter page have actually been created for a totally different engine and game originally (not by solstar games) but that was never released so they were able to buy the content and offer it now which I think is a good thing for those (like me ^^) not beeing that talented but still wanting at least "showable" content ...

Better than ugly blockies 7nth incarnations naw? ;-)

Hey Sledge, Actually, I was seriously thinking about doing that. I wanted to make a pod people system that you could have a male and a female model that were naked and animated. then you could buy add-on packs that have armor and clothing that will fit those models. Kind of like having cg dolls. This has been done in RPG for a long time, but just not on an indie level.

Make human could be a good place to start
