Reckless Rufus - c64 Remake

opinion sought on sprite designs/viewpoint.

In the original game, the main sprite is viewed as if from the front, but the level is viewed from above. This doesn't really make sense. The main character should really be looked at from top down.

Should I redesign the sprites as though they are viewed from above? Or, should I stay faithful to the c64 version?

Also, the game was quite difficult with 130 levels screens. Do you think I should make easier and/or reduce levels?

I know what you mean, but I think the view from above would make for some boring gfx. Either stick with the side view or go 3D isometric if you're feeling adventurous.

I don't really wanna go 3d isometric as it's my first Blitz game (to cut my teeth) and I don't want to get too ambitious for my first attempt.

Although, a 3d isometric version of the game would be quite cool.

Hmm...

Maybe my next game will be more adventurous.

I'd stick with the original view. I wish you the best with your project. :)

I like the original angle as well so that the character can have some er...character.

well, I think that seals it.

I'll stay faithful to the original.

Thanks peeps :)

Alas, I've found it difficult to get stuck into this project (which shouldn't be too much work programming wise), due to no time.

I'm currently in a "crunch" period with my day job and will probably not have much time for a few weeks.

I imagine the longest time will be spent doing the graphics and stuff, but I just can't devote any time to it at the moment. Quite frustrating really.

Ho-hum, such is life.
