Wow, Wow, wow, Youropa looks awesome as BLEEP. Kinda got the whole mario galaxy thing going on. The graphics and little character look great too. I will definitely get that when it comes out :-)

ps the trailer has got me pretty excited :-)

Nice, looks very neat and fun. Programmed with BlitzMax?

that looks great! Graphics look very sharp, wonder how it would play on my rig?

I'm really looking forward to it, as well. Fredborg always puts out spectacularly polished products, and I expect this will be no different.

Looks absolutely fantastic...!

Wow wow wow.

Made in Denmark!!!!

It looks more tasty than Danish bacon, and that's saying something.

Looks like it kicks Mario Galaxy's ass.

can't say if it kicks galaxy's butt but it does show that nintendo gives us great new ideas. I bet this wouldn't have seen the light without little mr mario

Not sure ... it reminds me more of marble blast ultra than it reminds me of SMG because the char is moving around given "soft" corners, not free floating gravitation, similar to the marble in MBU

I implore you to approach Valve and get this on Steam. In fact, if you refuse then I might just do it myself.

This has been on Youtube for a couple of months:

Only 295 views - Clearly not enough tags to the file - It needs linking to: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uuccl9ywyKQ

W O W ! ! !

Brilliant - absolutly brilliant....

Agreed this looks crazy good! Brilliant!

Wow! Looks very, very sexy.

@Puki

That would be the one sure way to make me NOT want to buy it! (Steam)

Looks cool,... and definitely something I'd be interested in.

It jolly-well is going on Steam.

Wonder what other gems are guys around here working on. It's seems they just wanna keep quiet about them :-)

Very cool :)

Kickass!

Thanks :)

brilliant cant wait for it to come out =)

what is this, why haven't we heard about this before since clearly it has been in development for some time. I want all the juicy details on this! Will it have more interesting gameplay then seen on the video?!?!?

Pongo- Whats the issue with Steam? I used to completely hate it but when i tried it over the last 6 months things have improved, alot.

Nice!

Mario galaxy is far from the first game that lets the player run on all surfaces.

Cygnus,

To be honest, I have never used it (and never will). To me it falls into the category of overbearing protection. I've got enough crap running on my computer that I don't need, and I dislike the aspect of connecting for authentication. I also have a separate gaming machine that is completely disconnected from any network, and it will always be that way. Yes, I could hook it up or use some wireless on it, but that's not the point. Some people (at least myself) just don't like the idea of everything being connected.

That being said, my only option is to stand on the sidelines and watch. To me there is no game worth giving in on this principle, even though there are at least 3 games that I would have purchased now on steam. They are lost sales to the developers.

I guess that's about it. you can now have your thread back.

How dare you. If it's by Nintendo, it's innovative!!!.

Youropa looks like a big sack of awesome. How come I've not heard anything about this before? *suspicious eyes*

I do too, but it is a worthy sacrifice compared to some of the other horrifying protection schemes out there that don't even work against pirates anyway. Steam lets you play the game without a disk and, in many cases, without needing a CD key. The alternative is a bloated, ugly protection scheme that requires a disk, thus making the game a nicer experience for the pirates. Oh, and the alternative doesn't work in protecting one's software since pirates always come up with workarounds. Steam does.

Sorry to muddle up this thread with this,...one last comment and I'll stop.

I actually prefer having to use the disc, or entering the CD key. At least that way I own the thing I've purchased, and I don't have to rely on SOMEONE ELSE. (That's a big thing for me)

It's not just Steam though. I tend to avoid most of these schemes, simply because they are not worth it for me anymore. I have made a few exceptions like LFS (Live For Speed) I don't like the protection scheme, but love the game enough to put up with it. I have not had any issues with it, but it stopped me from buying it for quite a while.

I also use several apps that cost thousands of dollars. These tend to have these crazy scemes also, but I buy them because.
a) It's how I make my living, and these apps make me money. (vs. a game that is simply short term entertainment)
b) I trust that these companies will be around at any time I might need to re-authorize.

ok, I promise I'm done now. Lets talk about this awesome looking game please.

Also, steam doesn't protect the developer from pirates. There's a lot of steam software out there ready to be downloaded that doesn't need steam to function any more.

It's going on Steam.

Freaking amazing!

Very cool, superb work Fredborg.

Ooo! Talking of which, what was the name of that old playstation game with the beachball rolling around a multi gravity level avoiding traps and getting keys? I was trying to think of the name the other day....
Anyway, reminds me of that a bit... but much... better and different :)

9.999/10!!!

Stunning..

what a unique concept, implementation... I love the simplicity of the character models, and the fantastic detail of the level esp. the organic elements like the mossy stuff

amazing!

SMG is actually the first game with free floating physics.

Other like marble blast let you run on all sides but they do not allow to do that by just jumping over the border, they always use transition zones like the "round" sides in Youropa or the ramps in marble blast ...

what makes SMG that special is that the whole thing works like that and works that hell intuitive without the need of many complex thoughts (marble blast, even thought it uses ramps on the other end is kind of a trip to hell when it comes to that stuff). Show me another game with free 3D graviational puzzles that is that simple to get into and that fun / special to play.

really really cool, proffessional and stylepowa!

That would be Kula World.

While this video is fantastic, seeing that big bouncy ball at the start just made me miss Glover even more :(

Thanks for all the kind words :)

It's very different from Mario Galaxy and in some ways more similar to Marble Madness or Kula World, but still completely different...

It involves a lot more than the stuff shown in the video :) And naturally you'll have to wait to find out what it is :)

Going to Leipzig GC next week, so keep an eye out for us :)

WOW! Fredborg never ceases to amaze..

One thing though, is it from the Blitz line of languages?? ;)

Good luck at Leipzig. :)

Looks awesome.

I still want to write music for it - having said that, I love the stuff you already have, it's dope :)

Looking great, I'm the third one asking this I think, what do you use to develop this game? BlitzMax?

good one! :)

fredborg comes to the gc in leipzig ??

Seriously nice

Looks great. And I don't often say that.

If you can't set yourself up for early retirement on the proceeds of this, then.... erm.... I'll eat my own shoes.

Can we have some more info on this, is development of this game finished? It looked like you had nailed it down 7 months ago, how much have you progressed since then?
