Just got me a new watch, LED Rules!

looks like something 'the Hoff' would wear in Knightrider

I like the positioning of the LED, don't even need to turn your wrist to face you to tell the time.

So much watch, so little ... watchspace.

Is there like a big silver flap on top with more gadgets inside? Like a sodastream and a mousetrap game, oh and a firefox video game.

Showing my age now, but I've still got one from the first time around, can't get the batteries for it though...

Does the LED stay on, or only when you press the button ?
The originals only lit up when you pressed the button, as the batteries where so crap they'd only last a day if they where on all the time :)

Is that picture actual size? Now that would be impressive.

Douglas Adams would be envious.

That's the first thing that popped into my mind, too:

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.
-- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Anyway, interesting retro-look.

If you really want a watch most people can't use, there's also the binary wristwatch:

(Upper LED-row shows hours (8-4-2-1), lower LED-row shows minutes (32-16-8-4-2-1) . It's 10:15 in the picture.)

Just don't wonder what time it is while you're driving a car or something. ;-)

I was going to say that looks too modern for my liking and post a picture of a Nixie tube watch, but I couldn't find one that would hot link. In the meantime, I've convinced myself I want one, so you've cost me a few quid there, Indie.

Nixie Tube Watch:

Only lights up when you press the button, stays on for about 1 second. There is no flap on the top, it's just the aerodynamic styling :) The watch is a modern re-work and batteries last about 12 months - apparently.

krusty brand batts, cool.
