Call of Duty 4 server weirdness

Anyone out there have COD 4? I got it and tried to match up a game with a buddy and on his computer with the same filter setting he found thousands of game servers and on mine it found about 720. Anyone run into anything like this?

Might be that his ISP has better routing contracts so he gets them with the applied max latency filter for example.

Well, I'm not having that problem. I get about 100 servers, and they're all pinging at about 3000 and up. No other game is doing this...

I am SouthAfrican Afrikaans speaking, got a russian language version of CoD4 now my russian language abilities gotta improve drastically :)).
