morduun's site

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/morduun's site

I was recently searching for morduun's site (he had posted some B3D code a good while back for inventory). Apparently morduun used to be an active Blitz3D'er.

Do NOT visit this site or you'll be greeted by a nasty virus: www.echthros.com. If you don't believe me, Google the URL and you'll see Google's "This site may harm your computer" displayed under the link.

Just looking out for anyone that may happen upon it from searching for Blitz3D code.

Morduun was a good buddy and it has been LONG while. He was into music and also was doing a remake of....um...the game Rogue I believe. Wonder where he went. :(

It loads fine in Firefox here without any virus warnings, but on the other hand I got NoScript installed on my copy of Firefox here......anything specific you wanted from it?
(he also had some articles on BlizCoder (*archived) if you wanted those also)

And man, haven't seen morduun in ages, last I see him was on DeviantArt with his g/f Shadee, but even that was years ago.

Believe he's happily married. Again, information from along while back, and might not even be true...

Not seen him in ages, and doesn't strike me as the guy of guy to go about infecting people's computers with viruses.

I wasn't implying it was intentional. No idea how a site could get infected like that?

I know :o) Thanks for the warning!

Huh, weird. I'd noticed some incredibly slow loading issues a few months back but honestly I kind of ignored it -- I've not done game development on that side of the house in a while. Sorry for the inconvenience gents, I'll have a look into it.

In the meantime, I know the code you're looking for stayne -- the direct link to the code is here:

NoScript is what I run with as well, and a quick peek at the site tells me that the CMS I was using probably got hacked in a prior version, and I never bothered to upgrade for security fixes. Meh. I'll take the site down until I can work out how to fix that little nuisance -- in the meantime the zip should be clean, but be sure to scan it, as with anything.

And yep, to confirm, married happily, still developing, not dead, just so damned little time anymore :(

Here ya go. Took the plunge again for your sake. Apologies for the huge image...

Ah good to see you again Matey! You seem to have some kind of thumb print on your head *looks closely*

Hehe :oP

I went to the site but my Firefox NoScript kept me safe. I downloaded BadAdventure for the heck of it. Cool little remake imo.

I see a thumb print too!

You sure that's a thumbprint? >.>

I loved badventure. Godawful code -- my excuse is I started out trying to write it for the 150 line thing back at blitzcoder -- but man that game is just so utterly classic.

One of these days I'm going to learn my lesson and stop using cms's, or at least regularly update the damn things when I do use them. For now the site's down; I can't imagine anyone will particularly notice, let alone miss anything, but links to anything vaguely interesting is up on the plain homepage. Thanks for raising the alarm!
