Wii for Christmas

Got a Wii for the kids this year. The controller worked very well when playing the included sports games. My kids also say the other games are great as well.

Next up is to try the WWII flying game and the Metroid game. Does anyone know how the flight sim game handles? I gave up trying to play flight sim type games on regular game pads.

The WWII flight simulator is okay. The nunchuk controls your x\y tilt and the remote controls your weapons.
It has A LOT of turning around.

Super Mario Galaxy is awesome.

I played a bit of Wii sports again yesterday. Boxing was fun but did not really require any finesse, just pushing the controls forward seemed to be the best way to win.

Baseball was fun and I like Tennis too. I'll be pushing the kids off to try Metroid and Zelda tonight.

I'm hoping MS clones this controller for the 360, combine the 360 graphics and Wii controls and I'll be buying a console for myself - not just for the kids.

Did I say "Super Mario Galaxy is awesome?". What I meant to say is that its one of the best games ever. I've never really got the whole Mario franchise thing and not really got into any of the other Mario games, but Galaxy is really beautiful - looks great and has some of the best game music I've ever heard. The game play is so fluid and finely balanced. I can understand why Edge Magazine made it game of the year.

I`m the opposite - I wasnt really into Mario, though until Mario64 which I absolutely loved.....
So I was really looking forward to SMG - sadly I cant seem to get into it :(

SMG is really great but my GF actually had starting problems with it as well. She isn't the type of player thats into full 3D games so her feeling for 3D isn't that great which at the beginning stroke bad hardly as the gravitation stuff is a really cool feature but needs its time to get into (for me it was a piece of cake, I finished the portal challenge levels within a few hours so gravitation puzzles aren't something I see as "complex" especially not when presented in the way of SMG where the "way to solve the problem" is pointed out normally as well either through sound or visuals)

I will go back to it, and to be fair I only have given it about 20-30mins before I tried the others (RE4, Trauma Centre) which I am now hooked on.

I don't know how good your 3D imagination etc is, so from the "type of person": Yes, it would actually be possible as SMG definitely is much more addictive then Mario 64 was back then after you get the hang of it. It starts to make just too much fun after you start realizing with how many things you can interact to reach places and avoid things ... you start to look for things just to have fun with them instead of finishing your "mission" ^^

Physically like my GF: I highly doubt it ^^
