What do I clean with for Flat Monitor?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/What do I clean with for Flat Monitor?
hiya all,
It is normal cloth to clean the monitor or somethings?
cheers
Anything which is lint free will be fine. If it's good enough to clean spectacles, it's good enough to clean a TFT. You can get special moist wipes made by Fellowes in places like Staples and Office World too, if you want. They work pretty well.
If you do decide to use spray of some kind, just be sure to spray the cloth, not the screen. If you spray the screen, it will likely leave a mark. And don't be tempted to scrub.
thank you for good advice :)
..and no alcohol :P
LOL
I bought Stockinette dishcloths and Multi purpose cloths :)
Use a 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water solution and rub the screen with a pure cotton cloth. This is what most cleaning solutions use. You can buy special cloths which do something or other special, but I've never had a problem with this.
OK I read up about this and eventually went to www.screen-wipes.co.uk and bought the spray and the cloth which is suitable for TFT as not everything is...
Check the manual that came with the screen -- depending on what material the outer layer is made of, you may have adverse effects using certain cleaning products. (Don't want it eating away the plastic, after all)
Mine specifically recommends using isopropyl alcohol with a lint-free cloth, which works great.
3M has some product for this, a lin-free cloth should work.
.and no water..
I just use a clean sock. :(
