Need phpbb mod to attach files to a post

Anyone know of such a thing? I'm a real noob when it comes to running a forum, but I've recently started one for my framework and I want to deliver framework updates via the forum by having a special user group for registered users so that I can make a special post for those users which has my latest framework attached to it. Does that sounds feasible?

Or you could switch to SMF which is nicer in my opinion.

Yes, SMF. That is what I use and exactly what I was going to post.

That would mean getting rid of the current forum and it's only now been setup.

Unless you find a way to transfer user data to the new smf board.

I would not doubt it that there was a converter to go from phpbb to SMF.
