Need an explosion sound that doesn't suck

Just like the title says. There are lots of free explosion sounds on the web, and all the ones I can find sound terrible.

It's hard to say without knowing what about the explosion sounds you've found have made them sound terrible...

...but here's 67 free ones, one of which might make the grade.

sample one from some old movie and modify it a bit with a sound editor so its no longer recognisable.

If it sucks, surely that's an implosion. *groan*

Well what exactly is exploding? Bomb, grenade, diesel truck full of fuel? Atom bomb? Knowing what it is will make the search a bit easier.

I doubt you'll find one. I searched for one a while back and they were all horrible... and I had a sound library as well. Eventually I payed about $15 for a set of explosions which I now remaster for whatever I need.

Good explosion sounds are as rare as hen's teeth. I say: ignore the free ones and pay a little.

I got it from a Flash Sound Effects website. I like this one alot.

put the needle on anything, as long as you dont mind possibly busting the stylus
