Never Winter Nights VFM
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Never Winter Nights VFM
Today picked up NWN1, NWN1 + Shadows of Unrentide, NWN1 Horders of the underdark AND NWN 2 for only £30 from game. For anyone that likes a bit of RPG and haven't seen this series I highly recommend it.
No online subscription fees either... unlike others I could mention.
The pack is called Never Winter Nights Legends:-

Cool. Sounds great. I don't need it though as I have all the NWN ones now, just need NWN2(maybe)
I didn't know it was an online game?
I didn't like NWN 2 at all. It felt all cute, soft and fluffy like someone tried to make a nintendo version of NVN1 with big dollops of octarina of time in.
I heard the expansion was more like what people expect, only problem is you start at high levels and for me the fun is building and experiencing a weak character. Once you get too powerfull most of these type RPG's get repetitive and dull.
Hope they come up with something new that lets you start off with a beginning and not so much jolly fluff.
Oh yes, NWN is an online game with numeorus online persistent worlds, that cost nothing to take part in. I believe not all Persistent Worlds within other games are free......
You are even provided with world builder tools if you are inclined to make your own worlds. I like NWN2, so there you go.
NWN2 was too demanding and i was just fine with NWN1 and all the Addons. Actually it would have been enough if they just would have written killer adventures instead of a bloated 3d engine. Content instead of technology!
How does it compare to WoW?
It doesn't, because NWN isn't a MMORPG.
I'm not a WoW gamer so what should i say...
NWN1/2 is about single player for me, i dislike having large parties and prefer running around with only a few or just one character, which was extremely hard as i've played through NWN just with my thief. I know that you also can play like a single player in WoW but i have no idea what the difference would be....simply lack the WoW experience as i'm not interested in those mmorpgs.
Generally NWN2 is an average to nice game but nothing more. Needs a 256MB gfx card or above. I liked NWN1 more.
yeah, I think the most you can have on one server has been about 50 or sixty people, which is enough for some folk.
personally, Ive found playing the quests that come with the game on a LAN at home with my kids is quite enjoyable.
Haven't played WOW, don't know if WOW gives you the option of different persistent worlds, but NWN has quite an array of online worlds you can partake in, all with diferent themes. I believe WOW has a subsciption fee, I've found that of putting myself.
Seasons Greetz.
