Haha great an utterly true. You know I read some science report recently that said people often experience improved motor-coordination up until a certain point, and then it all goes downhill :-)

Yes mate. I can believe it.... all joking aside, I become a demon at ten-pin bowling after a few lagers. Relatively, that is.

I saw the same effect playing brain training on the DS the other day. I'd had two or three pints and I got my best times ever on the simple maths rounds.

my brother is better at pool pissed
snooker beeing colour blind not so

darts
iir i liked being the dart board one birthday :))

Darts..yes I was going to say I used to be better at darts the more I drank....up to 5 pints when it all went down the drain so to speak.

all the best dart players they used to have on tv used to have a pint in one hand and a dart in the other ;)

Yeah I'm better at pool after a little bit of booze and also at home I start jumping around and doing more physically precise movements like a nutter.

It begs the un-PC question, are you better at driving after a SMALL amount of alcohol? I'm not condoning it in anyway as we know that some people can't handle alcohol, or don't know when to stop drinking, but it's interesting scientifically.

Oh yeah, are you better in bed after a drink or two? It certainly, ahem, loosens up the ladies...

oh dear I think I've gone off topic.

Back on: I confess that some of Fairway Solitaire was coded after a few drinks, not too many though.

Depends on the amount of sleep I got the night before. If tired and coding, a small beer could be a brainkiller. If clear and awake, a drink is highly inspiring.

I code great after a couple of shots of grenadine!

Hello.

Copious amounts of vodka certainly helps my freeform 'dancing like a twat' techniqe.

I certainly believe in the vodka window pool playing technique; sadly it's too easy to fall out the window and spear your buttocks on the railings below (sorry, just some bad American real life TV story).

Yes, alcohol can loosen the ladies up, but Jake, for God's sake don't trust Helen if after three double vodka red bulls she comes up to you with a sparkle in her eye, a wicked grin, and cucumber in hand and says "turn around Jake, I've got a surprise for you". That way leads to tears (and you can pronounce that last word anyway you want!)

Goodbye.

oooh. Reminds me of a joke: A gay goes into a vegetable shop and carefully selects a nice big cucumber. The checkout assistant says "would you like that sliced sir", and the gay says "What do you think my arse is? A f*cking money box?" :-D not very PC I know but....I liked it.

I really do believe this as well. When ive had a beer or two, i am more confident and intense over my coding.. not to the point of sloppy (any more than normal), but i dont get enormous 'thinking ahead' breaks, where i think so far ahead of myself i get into completely different problems and end up in a dribbling daydreaming state where nothing gets done :).

However after 3 or 5 i need to get out down the pub or watch tv and eat otherwise i start to see odd phenomena like dancing brackets, or worse, wake up hours later with a keyboard pattern on my forehead, a full page of rubbish and a screaming keyboard buffer.(thats happened before :/ ).

@lol WinME! :D

funny, i am normally like that after 2-4 red bulls ^^ not the type of person that likes alcohol, especially not most of the hard alcohol, wine and beer. At best I drink a soft drink to enjoy it ...

grey alien -lol

I cant seem to come up with new ideas when i had a drink, but I can solve problems just as well

Wow, that is cool. Although i am skeptical.

Anyone on this site want to test it for themselves? :)

lol
